Survival of the Hottest
On the hottest day of the year, Tori and her friends take a trip to Venice Beach, but they — minus Cat who left for the bathroom — get stuck in Beck's RV when someone else parks right next to them, and they try to survive.
Oblivious to all of this, Cat parties it up with some cute boys.
Tropes:
- Actually Pretty Funny: When Jade insists she doesn't sweat, Tori asks if she's just somehow cold-blooded. Rex sarcastically declares how obvious it is; Beck chuckles at Rex's comment.
- Big Damn Heroes: When it seems everyone has lost hope, Cat opens the door to the RV, freeing everyone and revealing the trailer next to them left at some point.
- Brick Joke: Beck mentions that his father purchased his Airstream RV from a rapper named Fat Biscuit. At the end of the episode, after they get out the the RV and go to the beach, Fat Biscuit himself walks by with some friends and recognizes his old RV. When one of the friends recalls past events occurring in the RV, Fat Biscuit responds by quickly saying, "Don't talk about it," implying he has experienced traumatic events in the RV as well.
- Captain Oblivious: Cat is completely oblivious of the rest of the gang trapped in the RV, and doesn't even bother to go back and check on them until the end.
- Captain Obvious: Jade when she mentions that they have to get out of this RV. Tori tries to lampshade this, but messes it up by calling her “Catherine” Obvious instead.
- Dark Reprise: Tori and the gang sing an exhausted and dejected variation of "Make it Shine" (the theme song) as a last-resort idea by Andre to try and liven up the mood.
- Deus ex Machina: Cat miraculously opening the door to the RV, freeing Tori and the others, in addition to revealing the RV that blocked them left some time before.
- Heat Wave: What sets up the problem for the episode.
- It's All About Me: When Tori angrily questions Trina on why she didn’t share her bottle of water with the rest of them, she replies that if she did, there wouldn’t have been as much water for her.
- Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Shouted by Jade to Cat when she sees her sweating for the first time:Cat: Jade, you're all sweaty.
Jade: NEVER SPEAK OF IT!! - Malaproper: “Yes, thank you, Catherine Obvious!”
- Say My Name: Tori and her friends repeatedly scream Cat's name which is muffled from outside the RV.
