After finding themselves trapped in a cave, Velma and Daphne are forced to confront their complicated relationship. While Fred proves he really does love women for their brains, Gigi vies for Norville's attention.

- Brain in a Jar: The fate of the murdered girls. Their brains are put in special jars with an electronic eye and speakers that let them still see and talk.
- Deus ex Machina: When Velma is just about to fall down the hole with the brains, her mother comes to save them all with no build-up or hint of her presence throughout the episode. It also saves the trouble of them finding her at all which was built-up through the season.
- How We Got Here: Most of the episode is spent explaining how Velma, Daphne, Gigi, and Norville ended up trapped under a rock in a ravine.
- Mistaken Ethnicity: After being carted away by paramedics in The Stinger, Diya is mistaken by the newscaster for an Ambiguously Brown cleaning lady and they wonder what her immigration status is.
- Not What It Looks Like: After Velma and Norville go outside to stop Daphne and Gigi, they see the two girls hugging each other while standing near a cliff. When they get closer, the girls reveal that the outcropping they’re standing on started to break off, meaning that the girls were holding onto each other out of fear.
