Tropes

  • The Bus Came Back: Ultraman Tiga makes a grand return to a mainline series ever since the end of his own show. A manifestation of him is summoned by Mr. Shizuma's inner light and hopes to fight Kyrieloid.
  • Call-Back: Once again, the hope and light of humans allows them to summon the long-gone Ultraman Tiga to fight alongside the new heroes against a seemingly unstoppable threat.
  • Continuity Nod: Having dealt with their threat during his time as a GUTS member, Mr. Shizuma recognizes the Kyriel that antagonizes Trigger.
  • Deus ex Machina: Downplayed. Mitsukuni's light and hopes allow Ultraman Tiga to be summoned to save Trigger from Kyrieloid from out of nothing but that, however it had already been established that the hopes of humans can summon Tiga thus making it less overt than the usual example.
  • Evil vs. Evil: Carmeara and Hudram enter a conflict with one another over who should lead the Dark Giants. Hudram views Carmeara as foolish and delusional and calls her ineffective for letting her feelings for Trigger affect her, she does not take that well.
  • Immediate Sequel: The episode picks up not too long after the end of the previous one, dealing with the team finding the origins of the delusions and the culprit behind them.
  • Once More, with Clarity: In addition to the GUTS Select's crew reminiscing about their discoveries of their supposed good things, the Dark Giants' delusions are also shown but this time flashing to what actually happened in each instance:
    • Carmeara was indeed talking to herself and to her teammates was seemingly rambling about nonsense regarding Trigger.
    • Hudram did indeed get a talk from Darrgon, but Darrgon wasn't telling him that he should be the leader but that they rather should stick together as a team in spite of Carmeara's deteriorating sanity.
    • Darrgon never met up with Yuna, he was talking to himself the whole time nor did he get a white rose from her.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Conflicted over Kengo's sympathy towards her, Carmeara flees the scene to retreat to the Giants' hideout, leaving Kyrieloid as the final threat of the episode.
  • Secret Test of Character: Kyrieloid's delusion's were meant to be this as he tried to seek out people he considered worthy of being saviors, everyone but Yuna failed as they fell victim to desiring to make their dreams come true and thus truly believed the illusion. Kyriel himself continues the test up until Yuna helps Trigger against Carmeara, at which that point he declares that she too, failed, and takes offensive action.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Kengo shows major sympathy towards Carmeara as he is able to tell that she really loved Trigger and was in fact, once happy with him. He gives her some sympathy words when fighting her which impact her enough to make her and the Dark Giants retreat.
