Shiraz, a surgeon, drugs her lover, Karim, so she can harvest his liver and transplant it to her dying father, Ahmed, ignoring Ahmed's own rejection to it. She is soon faced with the possibility of losing her humanity in the process.
Tropes featured in this episode:
- AB Negative: Karim and Ahmed both have AB- blood type, making him a perfect choice for the liver transplant. In real life, Ahmed can also be saved by A-, B-, and O- transplants as well.
- All for Nothing: Shiraz harvests Karim's liver, killing him in the process, but she is too late to save Ahmed, who succumbs to his illness. And then she becomes a monster herself.
- Bait-and-Switch: The opening minutes of the episode makes it look like Shiraz is the victim of a home invasion. It's only when she gets the upper hand on Karim that we realize he's the victim of a kidnapping.
- Daddy's Girl: Their brief interactions make clear that Shiraz is devoted to her father, and she's willing to kill to save his life (over his protests). While he clearly feels that way toward her too, her dad doesn't want Shiraz to become a murderer for him.
- Downer Ending: Shiraz harvests her lover Karim's liver, but Karim dies during surgery. Her father dies of his illness soon after, making her efforts all for nothing and she becomes a monster, figuratively and possibly literally (though this is a horror series, so most likely literally as well).
- Face Death with Dignity: Ahmed is fine succumbing to his illness, as long as it doesn't turn his daughter into a killer.
- The Final Temptation: Right before the transplant, Shiraz is confronted by her evil self, who urges her to continue, while her father bangs on the door loudly to plead for her to stop. She elects to continue.
- I Did What I Had to Do: Shiraz's reasoning for Karim's forcible transplant. She even sedates Ahmed when he tries to call the police for help.
- Love Makes You Evil: Shiraz is willing to become a killer so her father can live.
- Organ Theft: Shiraz forcibly harvests Karim's liver. The complications during the surgery kill him in the process.
- Shoot the Shaggy Dog: Shiraz kills Karim, but she fails to save Ahmed, and then becomes a monster.
