It's easier for me to get you.

Tropes featured in this episode:

  • Bolivian Army Ending: The episode ends with Winton, Gabbi, and Zee futilely trying to escape from the Bag Man, as the lockdown prevents them from opening the door. However, their deaths are not shown.
  • Closet Key: Zee is implied to be Gabbi's, as she says Zee's the first girl she's ever liked.
  • Detention Episode: The main characters are teenagers who are sent to detention because they are suspected of setting off a prank that panics the whole school.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: We don't actually see Sam's murder by the Bag Man, though we do see his blood splattering the wall.
  • Love Dodecahedron: Jax likes Zee, who likes Winton, whom she suspects is dating Gabbi, even though they're not. Then it turns out that Gabbi likes Zee, who it seems reciprocates or at least is open to the idea.
  • Off with His Head!: The Bag Man decapitates Jax and stuffs his head into the bag.
  • Prank Gone Too Far: The cherry bomb was ultimately Jax's idea, as he wanted to cheer Zee up when she became envious of Winton's apparent relationship with Gabbi. He roped Sam to do it as well. However, Zee realized that the prank went too far when Gallo threatened to expel the perpetrator, so she panicked and implicated Winton and Gabbi as well.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Jax, the most cheerful and confrontational of the five, is the first to die.
  • Survival Mantra: Sam starts chanting "This isn't real, it's a joke" upon seeing Jax's disembodied head on the floor.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Principal Gallo, who sets off the school emergency system upon seeing the students being cornered by the Bag Man. Except the system actually sets off a lockdown, which means all doors and windows are locked, leaving them and him unable to escape.
