The pilot of the game's main story proper. Yuu, the main character, finds their way in another world, where they find out that they were accidentally enrolled in a magic school.
Tropes in this episode:
- The Beastmaster: According to Crowley in the prologue, they seem to have an aptitude for "beast taming" which is giving instructions to arrogant Magicians in order to get them to cooperate. Because he believes that this attribute will be important to the future of the college, he allows Yuu to enroll into Night Raven despite them lacking the ability to use magic.
- Fire-Forged Friends: Ace, Deuce, Grim and Yuu form a friendship after all four venture to Dwarf Woodlands together to find a Magic Stone to replace the one that Deuce broke, and hang around together in every chapter following the prologue.
- Suddenly Shouting: In the prologue you have a choice to do this when Yuu finally becomes tired of Ace, Deuce and Grim bickering. The other choice is to snark and say that they'll get expelled together with the snark leaning on the fact that Yuu isn't actually enrolled into the school and being "expelled" will do nothing to them.
- Starter Villain: The Faceless Monster became the first boss that Ace, Deuce, and Grim fought in the prologue.
- Trapped in Another World: The protagonist, Yuu, is transported to the setting of the game through Night Raven College's Dark Mirror and finds themself unable to return to their original world, and enrolls in the college as a student until the headmaster, Dire Crowley, finds a way to send them home.
