Now I know how Brando felt.

"Hawk, electricity is humming. You hear it in the mountains and rivers. You see it dance among the seas and stars and glowing around the moon, but in these days, the glow is dying. What will be in the darkness that remains? The Truman brothers are both true men. They are your brothers. And the others, the good ones who have been with you. Now the circle is almost complete. Watch and listen to the dream of time and space. It all comes out now, flowing like a river. That which is and is not. Hawk. Laura is the one."
—Margaret Lanterman, the Log Lady

Written by Mark Frost and David Lynch.

Directed by David Lynch.

Airdate: July 15, 2017.

Tropes appearing in this episode:

  • Actor Allusion: John Billingsley, who played Dr. Ben, is known for playing doctors in TV series, including Dr. Madden in Masters of Sex and Dr. Phlox in Star Trek: Enterprise.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: Both Janey-E and Doctor Ben ignore the fact Cooper is barely functional due to the fact his physical health is incredible.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Nadine's silent drape business, Run Silent, Run Drapes, is an apparent success and in business 25 years after its creation.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Janey-E has this reaction to Agent Cooper's excellent physique (which she assumes is her husband's).
  • Frame-Up: Duncan Todd sets up Dougie as the mastermind who blocked he Mitchum Brothers from getting a big insurance payout. Given that this will take care of his Mr. C problems and avoid blame from the Mitchum Brothers, it allows Todd to kill two birds with one stone.
  • Handicapped Badass: A visibly enraged Johnny Horne tries to get out of his chair to get at his nephew(?) Richard who is beating and robbing his mother. The only thing stopping him is his restraints.
  • Have You Told Anyone Else?: Miriam reveals to Richard that she already told the police that he was the one who ran over the little boy. Richard asks the title question in return, and she says no, but then reveals that she also sent a letter to the sheriff with all the details, and that should anything happen to her, Richard would be the likely culprit. It still doesn't help her.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: Janey-E has one of these when she sleeps with Cooper.
  • Questionable Consent: Janey-E leads Cooper into the bedroom, and when we see them next, they're in the full swing of things with Janey on top. It's left ambiguous as to whether Cooper has the mental faculties to give consent. For what it's worth, he's enjoying himself immensely when we see him.
  • Would Hit a Girl: This may as well be the title of the episode.
    • Richard Horne beats Miriam, then beats his grandmother.
    • Steve Burnette derides and chokes Becky.
