• Didn't See That Coming: When Naomi's father won't cooperate with the team, Naomi's mother sedates him from behind. The team is surprised, citing this trope, and she explains she's also a Traveler and didn't reveal it earlier due to Protocol 6.
• Hollywood Atheist: Grace rudely dismisses Naomi's father's attempt at using a priest to exorcise a demon supposedly possessing Naomi's body as stupid religion hokey.
• No Social Skills: Grace puts no effort in trying to hide what's going with Naomi from her parents, blatantly calling it a computer program and using technobabble. Mac awkwardly waves it off as a metaphor, but fortunately for them, the mom is already a Traveler and she can cover this up to her husband.
• Reckless Gun Usage: David cleaning a loaded gun. After Marcy chastises him and makes sure to unload the gun and clear the chamber, she challenges him to be able to point the gun at her and pull the trigger before she can disarm him if he wants to keep the gun.
