Both Sides Have a Point: June may be a little overbearing for Jack's safety ever since she learned of his Autobot friends, but she is his mother, and still rightfully worries for him. That said, Arcee has protected him from all sorts of dangers since they met, so she feels a bit insulted.
Breather Episode: This is a fairly light-hearted episode compared to the previous two episodes and the next one. Even Airachnid isn't as big of a threat here.
Evil Versus Evil: Airachnid and Breakdown come to blows over the gauntlet before the Autobots show up.
Grievous Harm with a Body: Twice Airachnid gets thrown into Breakdown. Second time would be considered Helicopter Fu as Bulkhead threw her in her vehicle mode at Breakdown.
Hypocrite: Miko, who complains of Jack's mother visiting the Autobot base too often and whenever she wants to... which is exactly what Miko does.
Jerkass Ball: The moment June come to the screen, Arcee is burning with rage and acts jerkish all the time. And it's can't be blamed on just jealouse or complaining. And it's the only thing that is pulling all B-lot in line.
Miko is even more jerkish in this episode than usual, extremely jealous and even pulls It's All About Me trope.
MacGuffin Melee: A three way struggle over the polarity gauntlet, that sometimes becomes two on two thanks to Breakdown and Arachnid's Enemy Mine.
Miko: Wait! Don't send me back to Helicopter Mom! It's just that - I miss the way things were.
Arcee: Strike that, Ratchet. It's only recon. She's safe with us.
"Not So Different" Remark: When it's no longer a recon mission, Arcee sends Miko back to base. Miko accuses her of being just as overprotective as June, which Arcee is later forced to admit is true.
