Recap / Total Drama: "Alien Resurr-eggtion"

Go To

The campers, still not split into teams, are subjected to an alien egg hunt, and being hunted by Chef, in an Alien Movie Challenge. Geoff and Bridgette's makeout sessions start to grate on the other contestants.

Tropes:

  • And This Is for...: Chef goes around hunting contestants with a paintball gun. When he targets Heather, he lets her know he's not just playing his part as the alien hunter; shooting her also is revenge for putting laxatives in the brownies he'd baked a week ago in "The Very Last Episode, Really!".
  • Anti-Climax: When most of the cast here strange noises from around a corner, they get all tense and argumentative over who should check out what's there. Turns out it was just Bridgette and Geoff making out.
  • Big "NO!": Heather upon losing her wig.
  • Covered in Gunge: What happens to many of the contestants, some more than others.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: We get glimpses of Chef's past in this episode, twice:
Chef: (When seeing Geoff and Bridgette making out) I once knew love like that. (shoots them)
Chef: (After Izzy falls to the ground, supposedly dead) Uh oh, not again. (Izzy then wakes up, completely fine)
  • Don't Look At Me: What Heather says upon losing her wig.
  • Fanservice: In-Universe, Justin milks the alien slime Chef shoots at him for all it's worth.
  • Foreshadowing: Chef grouses multiple times about not getting paid. In the next episode, he forces a secret alliance with DJ in order to get a cut of the prize money.
  • Genre Savvy: Duncan and Gwen when it comes to alien movies.
  • Innocently Insensitive: When Leshawna gets the last Gilded Chris Award, she immediately hugs Bridgette and Geoff in joy before realizing they just got eliminated. She at least has the grace to say, "Oops...my bad!"
  • Insult Backfire: Leshawna passes by a locked door and gets shivers. She asks the others if they too feel like there's a strange and soulless cold on the other side. What she's sensing is Chris, who is seated in the control room and watches Leshawna's remark through the camera system. He is flattered by her description of him.
  • I Take Offence to That Last One: This exchange really says it all:
Izzy: If I handle hand-to-paw combat with a polar bear, haha, I can handle a bald emotionally withdrawn cook in a Halloween costume.
Chef: Who you callin' a cook?
  • Know When to Fold Them: Owen, knowing that he needs to go to the bathroom, surrenders himself to Chef when he turns up.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Trent isn't really happy about Gwen and Duncan's budding friendship.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Courtesy of Chris:
Chris: I'm liking the twos today. Must be Tuesday. (cricket sounds and the cast rolls their eyes) Yeah, I don't get paid to write this show.
  • Make-Out Kids: Bridgette and Geoff, resulting in them losing the challenge and then their ejection from the game because everyone's sick of it. They're literally still making out as they walk down the red carpet to the Lame-o-sine!
  • Monster Is a Mommy: Invoked.
  • More Dakka: When Chef confronts Izzy and Heather, Izzy pulls out a paintball gun, leading to Chef pulling out a much larger gun, and Izzy to do the exact same thing.
Izzy: (laughs) Fun, I love this game (loads her paintball gun with one hand).
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Everyone gasps when Owen says that he will eat the prunes.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a play on the film Alien: Resurrection.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Trent and Gwen win the challenge... and win the "reward" of being the captains of competing teams.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Two Words: I Can't Count:
Lindsay: Two words: Bridgette and Geoff.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To the Alien film series.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: How Chris reveals that Gwen and Trent "won" being captains of opposing teams.
