"I know what you've done. I know what you'll do." The phrase starts appearing everywhere around Cardiff. On posters. On the Internet. It's just a prank, isn't it? Only a wave of vigilante crime spreads through the city. People are taking revenge. Suddenly everyone knows what you've done. And they know what you'll do.

Cards saying "I Know What You've Done, I Know What You'll Do," appear across Cardiff. As they go viral, Serena, a young woman, shoves her date-rapist under a bus. Ng, Colchester and Orr arrive at the hub. Yvonne has one of the cards, and she's received info from Tyler that they've been found at murder scenes across Cardiff. Serena finds the card again, now reading "They know what you did, I know what you'll do to stop that," and Serena becomes increasingly nervous. Yvonne tells Orr to go on social media and make themself the ideal target of hate as she believes that whatever is behind the cards is hidden in the Internet. This is torturous for Orr. Mr. Colchester is angry at Yvonne, who insists it is necessary. They discover the force is called the 'Meme'. Meanwhile, Serena believes that Ng knows what she has done, and runs her over with her car. Ng survives (of course she does) and a man helps her to hospital. She retcons him instead of killing him. Mr. Colchester goes to a restaurant as bait for the card, and Serena hands him the card. He gets PTSD flashbacks of his time in the war. Yvonne arrives and without a sense of morality, is completely unaffected by the card. She tears it up, offering Serena a cover-up for her crimes. As Serena gets into a car to drive away and start a new life, Ng murders her, making it look like a suicide. Mr Colchester meets with Jack at (another) restaurant and angrily accuses him of having made a psychic worm from the ruins of the intelligence of the Hotel from episode four, which was repurposed by Red Doors into the Meme. He begs Jack to stop working with them, angrily saying, "I know what you've done, I know what you'll do."

Tropes:

  • Rape and Revenge: Serena gets even with her date rapist, but finds she can't stop killing to cover it up.
  • Assimilation Plot: Ng's plot comes to the forefront and she is forced to kill Serena to keep them from sharing her secret.
  • Sympathetic Murderer: Serena. A lot.
  • Mystery Episode: We know the solution, but a lot of the episode is procedure of Torchwood capturing them.
  • The Empath: Par for the course for Orr, but their attempts to make people hate them online to lure the killer affect them physically because they sense emotion.
  • Bad Boss: Yvonne Hartman's leadership style is pragmatic and nasty.
  • Madness Mantra: Serena's is "I know what you've done and I know what you'll do," but that's because it's a psychic message.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Yvonne works this way.
  • Murderer P.O.V.: Serena is our main character for about half of the time.
  • Make It Look Like an Accident: Serena pushes her rapist into traffic and says he tripped. Also Ng at the end kills Serena in the same way.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Ng is upset at having to kill to maintain her cover once again. Especially because she likes Serena.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: Jack insists he has done nothing wrong even if he is responsible for everything that goes wrong this episode.
  • The Reveal: Jack is in deep with Red Doors and responsible for the episodes events.
  • Ensemble Cast: The episode doesn't deign to focus on one character more than the others for the most part. Usually an episode focuses on one, but this episode has Yvonne, Colchester, Ng, Orr, Andy and Serena, who are all important, and also Jack holds a minor part.
  • Continuity Nod: Yvonne is now the head of Torchwood, Jack is with Red Doors, and Andy is still reeling from the events of "The Empty Hand".
  • Call-Back: The Meme is made from the Cardiff Hotel from "Superiority Complex".
  • Crack Ship: Yvonne and Andy's relationship begins this episode.
