Tropes

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Dick has no problem trading in the Porsche for a larger and more inconspicuous vehicle. Unfortunately the Nuclear Family is able to trace them by torturing the used car salesman.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Dick is being pounded on by an entire squad of well-armed mooks when Jason Todd—the new Robin—turns up to save him.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Dick believes the Nuclear Family is this, and from what we see of the 'cooking' of the new Nuclear Dad, he's right.
  • Chick Magnet: Kory sleeps with Dick without much preamble, and the divorcee who owns the hotel isn't subtle about her own interest, though Dick politely turns her away, realising she's after more than a one-night stand.
  • Conveniently Empty Building: Invoked; the only resident listed in the building is Dr Adamson in the penthouse suite.
  • Death by Secret Identity: The Nuclear Family discover Dick is Robin after he suits up to fight them. They are dead by the end of the episode.
  • Destination Defenestration: Nuclear Dad throws Dick out the window.
  • Did Not Think This Through: Dick going alone to deal with the mastermind of the Nuclear Family does not go well.
  • Foreshadowing: Kory tells Dick that he needs to demonstrate his own powers if he wants to get the trust of everyone else. He's later forced to out himself as Robin by showing his skills in combat while suited up.
  • Hallway Fight: Involving the Nuclear children.
  • Improvised Weapon: Dick uses a crepe pan and the suitcase containing his Robin suit as weapons.
  • Internal Reveal: Rachel, Gar and Kory find out that Dick is Robin.
  • In Vino Veritas: Kory tries to invoke this with Dick, but he doesn't reveal any secrets. She sleeps with him and he's no more communicative. However Dick then has to don his Robin suit to fight off the Nuclear Family—that explains a lot.
  • Know When to Fold Them: The Nuclear Family stop fighting when they see the Titans arrayed against them as a group.
  • Legacy Hero: Nuclear Dad is a Legacy Villain for the previous one killed.
  • Magic Pants: Averted as Gar rips out of his clothes unless he removes them first. Even when fighting the Nuclear Family he runs off behind a car to change.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Kory is amused by Gar's lack of clothing after his transformation.
  • No-Tell Motel: Dick has them hide in one, and practice their superpowers in an empty farm barn.
  • Sex Starts, Story Stops: Dick and Kory sleeping together seems to come out of nowhere given they've known each other only a very short (hostile) time.
  • Sexy Discretion Shot: The scene fades to black shortly after Dick and Kory wind up in the bed, and resumes with them getting dressed.
  • Torture Always Works: Averted; Dick recognises the signs of brainwashing in the Nuclear Family and realises it's a waste of time trying to beat the information out of them.
  • You Have Failed Me: On seeing Dick Greyson turn up at his penthouse, Dr. Adamson pushes the Big Red Button on the remote detonator he's been threatening the Nuclear Family with. Cue Your Head Asplode. Then he informs Dick that men are coming to kill them both and even counts down the seconds before they come bursting in.
  • Zip Me Up: Kory requests that Dick do so.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Dick wears only a Modesty Towel when Kory comes to talk to him.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Kory draws her power from the Sun, so she's weaker at night.
