Oh, Tropes!:

  • Adaptation Expansion: This episode is adapted loosely from Jesus' parable of the unforgiving servant. One of things added to it is what happened after the first servant gets imprisoned a second time.
  • For Inconvenience, Press "1": Midgel and Fidgel deal with this when trying to contact Admiral Strap for help. It ends up playing music.
  • Jaw Drop: Zidgel's, Midgel's, Kevin's, and Jason's jaws drop upon the sight of the large emerald. Fidgel has to close Zidgel's jaw twice.
  • Rock–Paper–Scissors: How the Rockhopper crew decides who gets to accompany Zidgel in his gifting of the emerald to the Gator King.
  • Sticky Shoes: The Rockhopper crew utilizes plunger shoes when climbing the palace walls to rescue Zidgel.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The plot of this episode is as follows: Zidgel owes something very valuable to the Gator King (he broke a giant-ass emerald), the Gator King gets pissed off and imprisons Zidgel until he is able to pay him back for the damages caused, Zidgel begs for forgiveness, the Gator King forgives him. However, Midgel loses Zidgel's marbles (which are only valuable on a sentimental scale), Zidgel gets pissed off at Midgel for this, Midgel begs for forgiveness, but Zidgel refuses to do so. When the Gator King hears about what Zidgel did, he gets pissed off and sends Zidgel back to jail. If the basics of that plot sound familiar, it's because it's the same plot as Jesus' Parable of the Unforgiving Servant.
