Allicia Botti, a famous opera singer, is coming to Sodor for a concert and the engines are wondering who will take her to the venue at the castle. However, they all agree that Percy will not be chosen as he is too dirty for the job, to Percy's anger. Come the following day, the Fat Controller had chosen Thomas and tells him to be squeaky clean.
Thomas goes to the washdown where Percy is waiting to be cleaned. However, Thomas insists that he must go next as he has an important job. Percy sets off, still dirty, to collect some coaches for his guaranteed connection. However, once Thomas and his coaches are cleaned, they hear a squeak. His crew assumes that Annie and Clarabel's wheels are the cause of this, so they oil them. But, once on the move, the squeak continues, making Thomas worried.
At Brendam Docks, Thomas pulls up to collect Allicia Botti and the Fat Controller opens one of Clarabel's doors. Unfortunately, the cause of the squeaking is discovered when they see a mouse in Clarabel, which horrifies Allicia Botti; she screams so loudly that all of the windows around the docks break. Disgusted at the sight of the mouse, Allicia Botti refuses to ride in Clarabel, much to the embarrassment of Thomas and the Fat Controller. Just then, Percy arrives back from his guaranteed connection and Allicia Botti considers him as a proper engine because of his dirty appearance and decides to ride in him.
Later, Thomas is back at the washdown when Percy arrives. This time, he lets Percy go next for his wash. That night, whilst Allicia Botti is performing her concert at the castle, Thomas and Percy are at Tidmouth Sheds where the mouse, whom Thomas named "Allicia", now lives.

- All of the Other Reindeer: Percy gets mistreated by the other engines for being dirty, even by Thomas, although he apologizes for calling him "Dirty Percy" and allows him to go to the washdown first to compensate for his rudeness.
- Eek, a Mouse!!: Allicia Botti sees a mouse in one of the coaches and is so frightened that she screams loud and very long.
- Embarrassing Nickname: Percy gets offended when Gordon and Thomas call him "Dirty Percy":Percy: Don't call me "Dirty Percy"!

- Laser-Guided Karma: Technically for Thomas who became a little too proud of his special job and insulted Percy. While he does eventually apologise to Percy for calling him dirty, he ends up facing major embarrassment when Allicia Botti screams at the sight of a mouse in Clarabel's interior and refuses to go onboard. Percy arrives with another set of coaches and Allicia Botti chooses the little green engine to ride in, both leaving Thomas behind.
- Named After Somebody Famous: The mouse that scares Allicia Botti gets named after her. Seeing as she's a famous opera singer In-Universe, it fits the trope.
- Overly Long Scream: When Allicia Botti sees the mouse, she screams long enough to shatter several windows.
- Red Herring: After Annie and Clarabel are cleaned, Thomas hears a squeaking sound. At first, it is assumed that the coaches' wheels are wearing down, so Thomas' crew oil them, but the squeaking continues. Once Thomas arrives to collect Allicia Botti, the squeaking is revealed to be coming from a mouse who was inside Clarabel.
