Jokey transforms Poet into Gargamel's mother, to whom Gargamel obeys finger and eye, to order him to stop chasing the Smurfs. Suddenly, Gargamel does not understand his mother very well and ends up believing that he is seeing double.
This episode has the following tropes:
- Body Double: Jokey transforms Poet into Mummy as a joke. Later, the Poet Mummy and the real Mummy come face to face with each other.
- Butt-Monkey: Gargamel.
- Call-Back: Papa Smurf's monkey assistant returns in this episode.
- Downer Ending: Jokey does not (yet) give Poet the formula to turn him back into a Smurf. They come back to the village as Jokey pretends that Gargamel's mom is in the village. All of the Smurfs run in a panic.
- Only Sane Man: Azrael.
