Gargamel steals the Sarsaparilla harvest that the Smurfs use to eat pies. When they find out, they become miserable and they have to substitute with blueberries. Meanwhile, Jokey, Brainy, and Chef Smurf begin suspecting that Greedy is the culprit.
This episode has the following tropes:
- Laser-Guided Karma: After Gargamel steals the harvest, first he tries to get the Smurfs to come to his village to find it so he could capture them.
- Karma #1: He finds out that the Smurfs used cardboard so it seemed like he caught them. He is disappointed after he realizes.
- Karms #2: His spells and books, which are on a shelf, fall on him (shelf included).
- Named by the Adaptation: Aversion. Papa Smurf and Hefty go to see where the stolen sarsaparilla is, they notice there's another Smurf on the pelican they're riding. Papa Smurf says "Sorry, Forgotten Smurf."
- Nothing Is the Same Anymore: When the sarsaparilla harvest is ruined, the Smurfs become miserable. Jokey can't even do his pranks without frowning.
- Sanity Slippage: The Smurfs slowly go crazy from losing the Sarsaparilla. Some try to sacrifice Dimwitty to get it back.
- Tickle Torture: Jokey does this to Greedy when he and a few others think he ruined their sarsaparilla harvest.
- What Is Going On?: Papa Smurf comes in the door asks this as Greedy confesses that he has a secret stash.
