At the very least, Con Rit looks...somehow better.
The 29th episode and the first appearance of Nessie.
Thanks to one of Necrosan's training exercises, a cryptid known as the Con Rit is menacing Loch Ness. Z-Squared (having just been pracitcing his powers and accidentally got himself in a future training session/"date" with Marceline) and Finn are sent to deal with it. Along the way, the meet Nessie herself and they are all assaulted by the monstrous Cryptid. A battle ensues, and the clincher is when Z-Squared unleashes his power again. The beast is soon slain and life goes on.
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Con Rit looked utterly repugnant in the original poster. Now, he looked more like a massive insect than a demonic creature. Then again, your mileage may vary.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: The Con Rit.
- Chase Fight: This ensues when Con Rit chases the twosome, who are riding on a frightened Nessie.
- Creepy Centipedes: By extension.
- Call-Back: Z-Squared thought the threat would be a previous villain that used bagpipes.
- Finn and water don't really get along. It isn't too bad, though.
- Speaking of Adventure Time, the last time Marceline got involved in dating hjinks with a friend was in 'Go Out with Me'.
- Comes Great Responsibility: As in previous fics, Z-Squared is adament to practice with his power rather than abuse it or let it come at random.
- Eye Scream: The Con Rit gets hit square in the eyes with Finn's bolts.
- Fangs Are Evil: Look at those tusks on the Con Rit!
- Filler: Even the introduction admits this. Then again, some events, such as the start of the Colonel Kernal arc start here, such as the future training session and Z-Squared trying to understand his power.
- Harmless Freezing: In order to keep Godzilla 2000, Discord, and Basil under control, Mr. Freeze does the honors.
- Horror Hunger: In order to survive, the Con Rit must feed on the human populace.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: For Con Rit, right through the head.
- Oh, Crap!: Aside from when they actually meet the beast, Z-Squared and Nessie have perfect expressions on the poster.
- Prank Date: Marceline was only kidding around with Z-Squared about their future training to be a date per say, but Z-Squared was taken out of the room before further clarification. Nevertheless, she is promised dinner and she humors the idea.
- Right Behind Me: The poster.
- Serious Business: The flavors of ice cream seem to be a good fight instigator for Godzilla 2000, Discord, and Basil.
- Ship Tease: As if there wasn't enough between the poorly drawn hero and the vampire queen.
- Stealth Pun: Each ice cream flavor that Godzilla 2000, Discord, and Basil fight over is related to something they like. Godzilla for Mothra (Tangerine), Basil for Fluttershy (Strawberry), and Discord for chaos (Sorbet).
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Necrosan didn't really intend for a titanic killer insect to attack.
- Vagueness Is Coming: Z-Squared's power once again shows itself, as well as Necrosan gearing up for his arc.
