Recap / The Real Ghostbusters Slimer 1 Nothing To Sneeze At

Go To

The Ghostbusters wake up one morning with the flu. Slimer, who was, as per, in the kitchen, flies into the bedroom. The guys tell him that they're sick, but that it's not serious and all they need is more sleep, and that since it's Janine's day off, he's in charge of downstairs. Peter then tells him not to raid the fridge, and all the while, a cat spies on everyone.

Slimer goes downstairs and watches TV, but when the phone rings, he breaks it with a mallet instead of answering it. The cat sneaks in and starts dropping tin cans from the top of the firepole, then it raids the fridge to make a sandwich, so Slimer throws it out the window.

That night, Slimer starts patrolling the kitchen like a soldier. Then, the cat comes back, playing with a remote-controlled toy car. It tries to make another sandwich, this time using a whole roast turkey, but then the toy car lands in its mouth before it can eat the sandwich.

The car goes into the cat's tail (somehow), so Slimer sends it tumbling down the stairs by controlling the swallowed toy car. Slimer locks the fridge, but the cat breaks in again and starts jackhammering, then tries to pick the lock with a jackhammer. Slimer holds the wire down until the electricity builds up to the point where the jackhammer explodes. He then kicks the cat out.

The next morning, the Ghostbusters have made full recoveries, and as a reward for not stealing food, Slimer is allowed to eat whatever he wants. So, he eats the fridge and everything in it.

  • Circling Birdies: The cat sees stars after being thrown out the window, then after being thrown out the door.
  • Dagwood Sandwich: The cat makes a sandwich with baloney, clams, a whole tomato, cheese, pie, a whole fish, a can of tuna (including the can), a chicken drumstick, and another fish.
  • Dinner Deformation: Slimer becomes square-shaped when he eats the fridge.

  • Last-Second Joke Problem: The Ghostbusters are healthy again... but now they've got no food left because Slimer ate it.
  • Loud Gulp: The cat gulps when it realises its jackhammer will explode.
  • Not So Stoic: Egon is a lot chirpier than usual at the end of the episode.
  • Oh, Crap!: The cat gets a deer-in-the-headlights expression when its sees a truck coming towards it.
  • Plague Episode: All four of the Ghostbusters have the flu.
  • Say My Name: Peter yells, "Slimer!" when the latter makes a crash.
