On the roof, Ray puts Slimer to bed in a tent. Meanwhile, Goolem and Zugg are in the ocean locked in an ice cube, angry at Slimer for having sent them to the South Pole. They go over a waterfall, which breaks the ice cube, and then Zugg whips out some sleeping potion and the two ghosts fly into New York.
They enter the firehouse's bedroom and start looking for Slimer, then wake up Ray and Peter. Zugg sprays sleeping potion to put them back to sleep, but Goolem tells him not to. However, he ends up using it all up, so Goolem puts the bottle on Zugg's head as punishment. Zugg suggests kidnapping the Ghostbusters and then catching Slimer when he comes looking for them, so they do.
They drive off in the Ecto-1, then bring the Ghostbusters to a mansion. The next morning, Slimer wakes up to find the Ghostbusters still gone. Slimer finds a ransom note attached to the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man doll, then when Chilly drives past, he catches up to her. He shows the note to her, then they drive off, then he shows the note to Luigi, who agrees to help. Then, Slimer rounds up Bud, Fred, and Rudy as well.
Everyone searches the firehouse, then Fred spots some spilled oil. Chilly finds that the oil is making a trail, meanwhile the Ghostbusters are still under the effects of the sleeping potion, but are sleepwalking and making a mess.
The good guys arrive at the mansion, then Slimer enters through the telephone wire. He finds that Goolem and Zugg have now tied the Ghostbusters up. He tells his friends, then everyone comes in disguised as a cleaning crew. They vacuum Goolem and Zugg up, then grab the tied-up Ghostbusters. However, Goolem and Zugg break out of the vacuum cleaner.
Zugg grabs Slimer, but Slimer breaks free and flies away. He hides in the fridge, and Zugg grabs him, but he mistakes him for an ice pop and puts him back. Goolem and Zugg grab the Ghostbusters, but Slimer and his friends come up with a plan.
Slimer distracts Goolem, who tries to zap him with his laser vision. Eventually, he breaks the floor so much that he and Zugg fall through it. Slimer whistles for them, then when Goolem tries to zap him, ducks out of the way so that a water pipe gets hit instead, washing them into Chilly's van. They end up frozen in ice, then Fred brings the Ghostbusters out.
The heroes launch the frozen Goolem and Zugg into the ocean, then back at the firehouse, they act noisy so as to wake the Ghostbusters up. When it doesn't work, everyone is sad, but Slimer decides to raid the fridge so the Ghostbusters will wake up and tell him off, and it works.
