Original air date: 11/25/2003

Production code: PPG-513

Seed No Evil: A frozen caveman at the museum thaws out and goes out to steal the seeds of Townsville, which makes the Mayor his top target.

The City of Clipsville: A clip show episode of the past four seasons, which features some clips that actually did not happen.

Seed No Evil provides examples of:

  • Casual Danger Dialogue: The girls casually discuss the caveman and his motivation, while the caveman chases their classmates around with his mammoth—Ms. Keane has to point out the situation to the girls before they finally fight him off.
  • Contemporary Caveman: The villain of this episode.
  • Human Popsicle: How the caveman and his mammoth end up in modern times, and what the girls do to him again at the end of the episode.
  • Identical Ancestor: The episode starts in the stone age, with a Neanderthal settlement populated by identical copies of the modern-day citizens of Townsville, including the Powerpuff Girls.
  • It Seemed Trivial: When the Mayor tries to call the girls, they don't see what the big deal is about sunflower seeds being stolen because he doesn't mention that it was a caveman stealing them. Something Blossom later points out after they finally see for themselves. Of course, this being the Mayor, he honestly asks if that was important.
  • Not Rare Over There: Since seeds (of any kind, presumably) were used as currency in prehistoric times, the caveman (after he's unfrozen) treats the sunflower seeds as if they still have great value. But by the current time period, stuff like that has become pretty much worthless.
  • Paper Tiger: The caveman looks tough, but the girls beat him in less than 10 seconds.
  • Poor Communication Kills: If the Mayor had just explained to the girls who was taking his sunflower seeds in the first place, they might have taken care of the Caveman right away.
  • Shout-Out: The museum guide promises to tell the children how prehistoric people used animals as household appliances.
  • Stock Femur Bone: Prehistoric Blossom wears one of these in her hair.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: The Mayor has replaced his usual pickles with sunflower seeds in this episode. He even calls hem ‘the new pickles.’ By the end of the episode, he switches back to pickles.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The museum night guard accidently frees the caveman when he tries to turn up the heat.
  • War Elephants: The caveman has a mammoth as his accomplice.

The City Of Clipsville contains examples of:

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: During the segment when the girls (as teenagers) are hanging out at the mall, they catch sight of Boomer, Brick and Butch—and they grin.
  • Babies Make Everything Better: Subverted in the Professor's case. When he accidentally turns the girls and everyone else into babies, he's got his hands full.
  • Breather Episode: This episode is mostly just a Clip Show with the girls reminiscing about past events from the first four seasons and other events that didn't happen.
  • Brought Down to Normal: One of the clips shows the girls having lost their superpowers for unspecified reasons. The clip in question has the girls preparing to give chase to Mojo Jojo from a rooftop, but as soon as they leave the roof they plummet to the ground.
  • Clip Show: Parodied, as with the exception of the first three clips shown, none of the clips have anything to do with past episodes but are instead of never seen before events. Plus, they become increasingly nonsensical. Eventually it's revealed that the clip show itself was a clip.
  • Pubescent Braces: Bubbles has visible braces when she briefly shows her teeth as a teenager.
  • She Is All Grown Up: All three girls in the Townsville Mall flashback wear really skimpy shirts.
  • Toilet Humor: One of the clips has the Professor accidentally turn the Girls into babies, then this happens.
Professor: [pats the back of a bawling baby Blossom] There, there. Just let it all out.
Blossom: [a squelch can be heard] Ooooooh! [smiles in relief]
    Professor: Now doesn't that-ugh-feel better?
[camera pans down to show that the young Blossom's diaper sagging down to all the way to the Professor's legs]
  • The Unreveal: The fake clip for the Professor and Ms. Bellum's wedding makes it look like it's about to show her face, with Blossom even getting excited about it all after all this time. Instead "Ms. Bellum" turns out to be Mojo.
  • Valley Girl: The way the girls speak as adolescents.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: When baby Blossom vomits down the Professor's back, we only see a brief splash of it, and the Professor's squicked-out reaction.
