While out for a movie day, a mysterious powerpuff like girl saves Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup from a villain. The professor reveals that she is Blisstina or just "Bliss" for short and his earliest endevor to create the perfect little girl. However Bliss's powers were unstable due to her emotions and he thought her destroyed in their last encounter when in reality she had secluded herself to avoid causing any further harm to the Professor. After ten years, Bliss has returned out of homesickness and is quite surprised to find that she now has sisters who are more then welcoming to her. However Bliss still has trouble with her powers which could both spell trouble for the city and dampen her relationship with her family.

  • Cassandra Truth: At the start, Bubbles tries to tell Blossom and Buttercup that Bliss is real. They don't believe her initially since they figure Bliss is another imaginary friend she made up. Even after Bliss reveals herself, Buttercup reminds Bubbles that they still consider her as crazy anyways.
  • Colony Drop: HIM's endgame is to split the Earth in two with Saturn.
  • Continuity Snarl: The pre-mutated Jojo is shown to already have green skin, even though the original series established that this was a side effect of his exposure to Chemical X.
  • Costume-Test Montage: Bliss testing out new superhero costumes. She eventually settles on her original outfit.
  • The Dog Was the Mastermind: Mee, the little elephant that Bliss had found on Bird-poop Island turned out to be HIM all along.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Mojo utterly refuses to fight Bliss as he remembers her from when he was still a regular lab monkey and considers her as his best friend. He even tries to aid the girls in saving her from HIM and is likewise saddened to see her go.
  • The Exile: Bliss willingly exiles herself when she was younger to Bird-poop Island after her last power explosion nearly demolishes the house and knocked out the Professor.
  • Flashback: Naturally a flashback is shown of Bliss's creation and why she isn't around until now. The Professor fills in the first gaps (creation and first few years raising her) and Bliss fills out the rest (what happened after the Professor thought she blew herself up). Mojo even tells his own side of the first gaps.
  • Forced Transformation: HIM, when fused with Bliss, uses his powers to turn people into random objects or animals.
  • Foreshadowing: ME, the mini elephant who has an object pronoun for a name. Who else has an object pronoun for a name?
  • Fusion Dance:
    • After HIM tempts Bliss with the promise to help her. They fuse into a Powerpuff-like being in HIM's design.
    • In a case of Sibling Fusion, all four girls join together into a construct of a bigger Powerpuff Girl to fight HIM in the final battle.
  • Head Pet: Mee turns out to be one...initially.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Bliss turns about to be the predecessor to the girls, having been created ten years before them.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: When fighting Commander Chipmunk, Bliss lets all the stress she endured from the professor onto him, despite the fact he's given up. So much so that the other girls have to rush in and stop her from completely destroying him. Unfortunately, HIM was counting on them getting hurt in the process.
  • One-Winged Angel: After Mojo manages to separate Bliss from HIM. HIM goes into a much bigger form from absorbing enough of Bliss's powers to combat the girls, even growing three heads in the process.
  • Opening Shout-Out: The Professor's flashback recreates the opening of the original series.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Whenever Bliss uses her powers, her hair glows brightly.
  • Power Incontinence: Bliss's powers tend to do this before and after her reappearance. Before it was just due to her emotions, though now moreover it's just when under stressful conditions. She seems to have gotten a control over it by the end of the special.
  • Put on a Bus: Bliss leaves the family to go push Saturn back into space after HIM had tried to drop it on Townsville since Saturn is so far away from Earth. Though promises she'll return to them.
  • Reactive Continuous Scream: This happens to Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, Bliss, and also Mee.
  • Suddenly Voiced: Mee in latter half of the special, at first he only talks to Bliss, then later everyone can hear him. Of course this is when he reveals he's actually HIM.
  • Taking the Bullet: Bliss is about to blast Commander Chipmunk when the other girls get in front of him to stop her. The Professor arrives at that moment and thinks Bliss hurt the girls on purpose.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: The final act of the special comes about because the Professor refuses to let Bliss crime-fight or go to school out of fear that she hasn't really mastered her powers. HIM ends up tempting her by offering to help her with her powers when it seems like the Professor and the girls have turned on her.
  • Traitor Shot: After a successful outing, Bliss and the girls go to sleep for the night, only for the camera to suddenly zoom in on Mee who lets off a devious smirk... before farting and falling asleep.
  • Unknown Rival: The Gnat is a mutated bug who considers the girls his greatest enemies because they swatted at him and laid out zappers and flypaper when he was an ordinary gnat. The girls were completely unaware of this, and just consider him a nuisance.
  • Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?: The Gnat somehow gets a submarine and a mecha suit to attack the girls with. Buttercup Lampshades it when she asks how he can afford all that stuff.
  • Who's on First?: The girls get into this when Bubbles tries to describe Mee to Blossom and Buttercup.
