School elections are coming up and Blossom runs for school president. However Princess decides to throw her tiara into the ring and run against her, doing so by means of a smear campaign against Blossom. Blossom tries to continue a fair campaign, but ultimately decides to play dirty as well.
- Dark Horse Victory: Matt, a third running candidate, wins after giving a passionate speech about being the president of the school.
- Expy: Matt Manser appears to be based off of YouTube sensation Kid President
. - Masked Luchador: Buttercup dons a luchador getup when Bubbles and she come to aid Blossom when Princess calls her lackeys to her during the "debate".
- Running Gag: The student constantly being hounded by bats through the episode.
- Smear Campaign: Princess enters the election by making Blossom look bad through smear ads and naturally bribery. Blossom eventually follows suit when Princess stats getting under her skin.
- Take That!: Pretty much knocking the 2016 Trump/Hilary elections which was running at the time and likewise had both running smear campaigns against each other. Matt is obviously supposed to be Obama, the only "reasonable" candidate who ironically was leaving the office that year.
