As Flash helps his future self fight Vilgax and Animac, he struggles to find if there is any way to change this future for him and his friends, or if he even should.
- Came Back Strong: Not only did Animac bring Vilgax Back from the Dead, he modified his body to be able to counter every single alien Flash has. Flash's future self briefly considers using a Celestialsapien (Alien X) but Vilgax doesn't give him the chance to.
- The Cameo: The future version of Flash uses Buzzshock and Gutrot in the opening scene, though neither are named.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Flash uses Gemini, the alien rabbit he saw his future self use in the previous chapter, during the burning building rescue to save Shining Armor's life.
- Fight Like a Normal: With Vilgax having a counter for every alien form he has, Flash's future self gains the advantage by returning to his human form.
- Formerly Fit: Pinkie Pie has gained weight in the future, presumably due to eating too many sweets.
- Honorary Uncle: Similar to the previous chapter, Flash is this for Flurry. Cadance tells Flash while thanking him for saving her husband's life, that he will always be considered part of their family for this. It is also implied that Flash's future self will accept Flurry referring to him as "Uncle Flash" after coming to terms with Shining's death.
- Instant Expert: Shining Armor is surprised to see Flash using his new alien Gemini perfectly. Justified though since like Flash said, he already had a demonstration of what this alien can do and thus knows how to use it.
- Morton's Fork: When Flash is returned to the Present, he arrives at the burning building he was told about that Shining died in. His future self already adjusted the Omnitrix so he can only turn into either XLR8 or Gemini. Flash has to decide whether to let things play out like they originally did, knowing everyone will have a happy ending eventually despite 20 years of sadness, or change things to save Shining but leave the future entirely unknown. He decides to go with the latter option.
- Mythology Gag: When Flash questions his future self on the name of the water shooting alien he used, he considers naming it Water Hazard. Flash admits it's a good name, but feels that Overflow is more fitting.
- Offscreen Breakup: Implied to have happened between Flash's future self and Adagio. Adagio is one of the ones Twilight said that Flash pushed away after Shining's death, and she is not one of the friends called in to help Flash against Vilgax and Animac.
- Putting the Band Back Together: Twilight summons the rest of the Rainbooms and Trixie to help Flash and his younger self against Vilgax and Animac. It is also implied that this helps them all repair their friendships.
- Screw Destiny: When given the choice between letting the future play out the way it originally did or changing it to save Shining, Flash chooses to save Shining and embrace the unknown future. It is also subtly implied that his future self was helping him do this regardless of his choice, since he also unlocked five other aliens for him besides Gemini.Flash: I decide my own future.
- Stealth Pun: The opening scene has a Loboan rampaging through London. In other words, it is a Werewolf of London.
- Take Up My Sword: Flurry Heart uses her dad's old Multi-Striker herself to help the Rainbooms and Trixie fight Animac.
- Vagueness Is Coming: Based on what his future self told him, it's implied that the next Arc Villain Flash will face is Zs'Skayr.
- Villain Team-Up: Vilgax and Animac team-up to get revenge on Flash.
- Wham Episode: To wit, Flash manages to change the future and prevent Shining Armor's death, leading to a new uncertain timeline, Flash is given six new aliens by his future self (five of which are unknown), and it's hinted that Flash will soon encounter Zs'Skayr.
- Wham Line: Flash's future self gives him one more piece of advice before he goes back to the past."When you face Zs'Skayr, remember that the sun is your greatest ally."
