It's the office's Halloween party and Robert California is in attendance with his son. Andy trusts Erin to organize it, but the party she throws turns out to be too childish for everyone's taste. Jim and Pam argue about superstitions.

After Robert pulls the two of them into the office, Andy finally clarifies that he does not have any issues with Erin, he merely wanted to tell her about his new relationship and ensure nothing was weird between them.
- The Chessmaster: After spending the night learning everyone's fears, Robert California spins a tale that incorporates them all, causing the now paranoid couples in the office to resolve their conflicts.
- Series Continuity Error: In this episode, Meredith says Jim freaks her out. In other episodes, she is shown to be flirty with him.
