Film: Felix the Cat: The Movie (1988)
This review contains examples of:
- A Rare Sentence:NC: So while Felix is chasing the magical, flying golden tear... (takes off his glasses to rub his face in anguish) Someone had to write that...
- Call-Back: When the foxes are given a song for no reason, The Critic makes a new Randy Newman song.
- Conspicuously Light Patch: Inverted when Felix encounters a pterodactyl-like monster with Glowing Eyes of Doom in the forest:NC: Look out! That's painted into the background so obviously it's not gonna move.
- Deranged Animation: The Critic thinks this movie's animation "makes Yellow Submarine look sober".
- Nightmare Fuel: Calls the 3D head of Felix the Cat in the beginning of the movie this.Felix: Hi everybody! Glad you could make it!Critic: Aaaaand hundreds of screaming kids go running out of the theater.
- Shout-Out: When the Critic rages about Princess Oriana not using such a powerful device as the Dimensporter for anything useful, he briefly acts like the Princess, claiming she only uses it to make hot chocolate. In Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, robot Tom Servo remarks that he only uses his Interocitor, an equally all-powerful machine, for the same.
- Swiss-Army Tears: The Critic is baffled at just how much a single tear keeps doing.
- Take That!: Takes yet another shot at music composer Randy Newman, speculating if the random "Sly As A Fox" number was his doing.
- Worst. Whatever. Ever!: The Critic makes very clear that this is one of the worst films he's had to review, panning it for being relentless in its obnoxiousness and nonsense.
