- Screams Like a Little Girl: His reaction when he realizes he is reviewing the other Avengers from way back in 1998, not the 2012 Marvel film.
- Stock Footage: The Critic immediately recognizes the shot of Big Ben exploding as having been lifted from Mars Attacks!.
- Take That!: He shoots one at The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, another film that like this one proved to be the death knell for Sean Connery's career.
