Critic: (New York accent) Come on, can't you see I'm tryin' to be New York here? Bada-bing-boom-bang, and Jets, and stuff. - Dude, Not Funny!: When the 1993 World Trade Center bombing is mentioned in the movie, the Critic quickly decides to abort any joke he could be making.
- Medal of Dishonor: The Critic says that the people who made Stargate & Independence Day & managed to make Godzilla even less credible should be given an award "for sucking ass".
- Overly Long Gag:Critic: So after that we see Audrey, as she comes across Mr. Tackanovahumpashirerickydickyhamstermasterpollywollywannabingbangsupercalifragilisticnickknackpaddywhackgiveadogabananafannafofrescahickorydickoryhocketypocketywocketyangelinafrancescathethird.
Nick: It's Tatopoulos!
Critic: Whatever. - Reunion Show: The Critic suspects this movie to be nothing but a The Simpsons reunion, as it features Hank Azaria, Nancy Cartwright, and Harry Shearer.
- Rule of Three: The Critic starts the review by discussing the films, Stargate, Independence Day and this one, all directed by Roland Emmerich and how the advertising for each of these films all focused on one aspect (where does the portal take you, how does the White House get blown up, and what does Godzilla look like) that you would have to go pay and see the film to find out. He was quite displeased with what each of the films offered him.
- Running Gag
- The Critic getting Nick Tatopoulos' name wrong, being corrected by Nick for it, and responding "Whatever."
- References to fish (specifically, Matthew Broderick's comment "That's a lot of fish.").
- Tongue Twister:Critic: That's really bad when you're getting criticized by the critic you're criticizing because you didn't criticize them enough. Try saying THAT three times fast!
