Films: Street Fighter (1994), Mortal Kombat: The Movie (1995)

This review contains examples of:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: The Critic admits to liking the joke where Zangief shouts, "Quick! Change the channel!" upon seeing a truck of explosives coming towards them on TV.
  • Call-Back: The "wah wah" Running Gag was first used in the Power Rangers review.
  • The End... Or Is It?:
Critic: So Liu Kang defeats Shang Tsung, saves Sonia, sets free all the little Casper ghosts and they all live happily ever after. OR DO THEY?!
  • Long List:
Critic: Most adaptations have the problem of leaving a character or two out. But not Street Fighter, no, they have the courtesy of giving us every single DAMN annoying character these games ever produced. Like: Guile, M. Bison, Chun Li, Honda, Sagat, Balrog, Ken, Ryu, Cammy, Zangief, Dee Jay, Vega, Dhalsim, T. Hawk, Blanka, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy, Dancer, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Cubby, Tommy, Pinky, Brain, John, Ringo...!
Announcer: (singing) The Professor and Mary Ann!
Critic: It's a nightmare! Everyone in the world is here! It's like a "Street Fighter Christmas"!
  • Manipulative Editing: Critic doesn't mention the subplot where Shang Tsung kills Liu Kang's brother, saying that Liu Kang entered the tournament "because he's... Asian", when actually, Liu Kang entered the tournament for revenge.
  • Mondegreen Gag: Invoked:
    Raiden: The Emperor's castle...
    Critic: "The emperor's asshole?!"
    Johnny Cage: NOOOOO!
  • Review Ironic Echo:
    Kano: Almost lost my lunch!
    Critic: I know the feeling.
  • Running Gag: "Wah wah wah waaaaaaaah" after Johnny Cage's many puns. Eventually, the Critic throws out his back by shrugging every time a pun occurs.
    • "OF COURSE!" started from here, as well as variations on Shang Tsung's "Your Soul Is Mine!".
  • Tempting Fate: While reviewing Mortal Kombat:
Critic: ...The film follows a PRETTY standard format. Someone fights, Raiden talks, someone fights, Raiden talks, someone fights, Raiden talks. So what exactly does he talk about? Well I hope it's not somethin' cliche like "You must first face your fears in order to conquer them."
Raiden: You must first face your fears... if you are to conquer them.
Critic: Fuck me, this is a dumb movie.
  • The Unintelligible: The Critic is perplexed at Jean Claude Van Damme's dialog. He's even convinced that some of the characters in the movie can't understand him.

"GAAAAAME, OVER!"
