Release date: March 28, 2018

Review of: Beauty and the Beast (2017)

This review contains examples of:

  • Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: Critic claims that the movie fixes one plot hole and creates many others. Invoked when the book that can take you anywhere is mentioned.
Critic: You know, wasn't that the idea of the mirror? The only window to the outside world? Now that window turned into a goddamn United Air flight! True, they don't treat dogs well and that could be an issue, but I think you can still go places where there's little-to-no people.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: By making the Beast more unlikeable, he claims that the complexity that made people like him is all gone.
  • Designated Hero: By giving the Enchantress a larger role, he claims that it just made her seem like a psychopath, noting that she never punishes Gaston.invoked
Critic: Her secretly viewing [Gaston turn evil] and not doing anything doesn't make her an all-knowing angel, it makes her a freaking psychopath!
  • Dull Surprise: Relentlessly mocks Emma Watson's more subtle acting.
Critic: Whoa, be careful! That was a whole facial muscle you just used there!
  • Song Parody: Disney's Bland Remake is one to "Beauty and the Beast".
  • Stockholm Syndrome: Critic believes that Belle and the Beast's romance in the film is an example of this, claiming that Belle could escape through the magic book but chooses not to.

"Ohhhhh..."
