The Critic examines the obscure 90's Animal Superhero cartoon Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa to determine if there was anything worth remembering about it.

Tropes are:

  • Abnormal Ammo: The Critic praises the use of this trope as a creative way to avoid depicting actual gunplay, which wouldn't fly in a more modern, politically-correct world.
  • Call-Back: Critic had accidentally let slip that he'd watched this show during his retrospective of Ducktales 1987's first story arc.
  • Expository Theme Tune: The Critic finds the show's opening theme to be surprisingly enjoyable despite not being a country fan himself. He does, however, take it to task for not actually explaining the show's setting very well.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Attention is drawn to the fact that the C.O.W. in the title is abbreviated. Cue the montage of Moo Montana quoting the Code Of the West multiple times, to Critic's annoyance.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: A short segment is used to demonstrate Cowlamity Kate's collection of long-winded and colorful insults.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: The Critic has to beg the viewers to stick with him after he reads out the names of the main villains: Oscar Bulloney and Sherrif Terrorbull.
  • Merchandise-Driven: While the show was always this way inclined in a similar fashion to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Critic suspects the second season leaned much heavier on this due to the influx of new one-off villains, sillier plots and downgraded animation.
  • Mistaken for Related: The Critic is convinced Cowlamity Kate and Cody Calf are related since they look so alike.
  • Overly Long Gag: Marshal "Moo" Montana quotes the Code of the West so much that the Critic quickly gets annoyed.
  • So Okay, It's Average: invokedUltimately, the Critic claims that the show's first season is definitely worth a look, but the second season is much lower in quality by comparison.
  • Teenage Mutant Samurai Wombats: Invoked in terns of the show sounding like a ripoff of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; the Critic notes that the show's creator actually helped design figures for the 80's TMNT toyline.
