Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 4 E 2 Grown But Not Forgotten

Go To

When Christopher Robin is invited to a "grown-up" party, the group begins to worry that he will soon grow up and forget about them.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Halfway Plot Switch: The first part of the episode is a Pygmalion Plot, where Rabbit leads the others in trying to teach Christopher Robin proper manners for the formal party he's been invited to. But then when Christopher Robin reveals that he can't take his friends to the party, they worry that this means he's growing up and will forget them, so the rest of the episode revolves around their building a "grown-up" house and trying to be "grown-up" themselves.
  • Pygmalion Plot: The gang, spearheaded by Rabbit, teach Christopher how to be a gentleman.
  • Pygmalion Snap Back: Mildly, for Christopher Robin. He tells Pooh and the others that he’ll never forget them, implying that he’ll return to his less gentlemanly ways. Which he does in his next appearance.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: The gang believes they're going to be attending the party as well, but they end up having to have it broken to them that the invitation was only for Christopher.
  • Stepford Suburbia: Tigger’s fantasy takes place in an innocuous version of this trope. What’s dark about it is Christopher Robin having no time to be with his friends because he’s a father now.
  • Vague Age: Played With. Rabbit says that the group aren't grown-ups, even though he's the most mature of them, adding onto the fact that they are all Christopher's toys and implied imaginary friends.
