Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 2 E7b Up Up And Awry

Go To

This episode contains examples of the following tropes.

  • Butt-Monkey: One of the best Rabbit examples.
    • Pooh's first attempts at flying (covering himself with glue and pillow feathers) ends with him falling off a cliff and landing right on top of Rabbit who was lounging in an inner tube in the pond.
    • Another failed attempt (involving a pair of roller skates) results with Pooh knocking Rabbit into the creek, leaving Rabbit completely covered in mud.
  • Call of the Wild Blue Yonder: What Pooh is trying to do.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Pooh's friends place him under house arrest for "breaking the law of gravity" (in reality, dangling off a rope in a tree).
  • Gainax Ending: After being freed from the mass house arrest, Pooh actually flies off in the distance, with only a proud Eeyore aware of it.
  • It's All My Fault / I Am Spartacus: Once Pooh's placed under house arrest, (in order) Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, then Rabbit themselves join Pooh, each expressing regret in either encouraging Pooh or failing to stop him. Though Rabbit does it unwillingly, as a now arrest-happy Tigger takes Rabbit's regret as the same as the others. Tigger does eventually join in with them, but only because he sees them enjoying a tea party, claiming nobody can have fun without Tigger.
  • Literal-Minded: Tigger, Piglet and Rabbit take the phrase "break the law of gravity" too literally and put Pooh behind bars.
  • Stock Scream: During Pooh's fantasy, one of the bees yells a super sped-up Goofy Holler.
