Tropes featured in the episode:
- Accidental Misnaming: In the French version, Mr. Rusty doesn't seem to pronounce Zebedee's name right, much to the wizard's annoyance.
- Cowboys and Indians: In the French version, it is revealed that Mr. Rusty used to play Cowboys and Indians when he was a child, pretending to be Buffalo Bill riding bison.
- Downer Beginning: The episode starts with Mr. Rusty sadly playing his barrel organ. Once upon a time, he used to be a happy man because all the children used to ride on his Magic Roundabout, but now he is melancholic because they don't come anymore. Feeling that there is no magic, he even tries to cheer himself up, but to no avail.
- Sealed Good in a Can: In the French version, it was revealed that Zebedee has been locked in this box for 4,000 years.
