"Silence of the Luans"

After several April Fools Days filled with pranks, the Louds have locked up Luan in a cell this time around. However, there's still a prankster running afoot, and it's up to Lincoln, with Luan's help, to find out who it is.
  • Aesop Amnesia: Apparently the lesson Luan learned in "Fool Me Twice" didn’t quite sink in, as the episode ends with her deciding to start doing pranks on April 1st again, thanks to Lily.
  • Amplified Animal Aptitude: Parodied with Lincoln seeing "Charles" sipping from a juice box as totally normal
  • Cassandra Truth: Nobody, not even her parents, gives Luan the benefit of the doubt when she swears she’s gone straight.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Lincoln recalls that in the past, the family has tried trapping Luan the night before April Fool's, referencing "April Fool's Rules".
    • Luan points out that she's given up April Fool's, following the events of "Fool Me Twice" and given there was no April Fool's episode in Season 4.
  • The Dog Was the Mastermind: Lily, of all people, is the mastermind behind the pranks. Not only that, but she even disguises herself as Charles in order to avoid suspicion.
  • Downer Ending: After successfully putting the family through tons of dangerous pranks all day, Lily ends up reigniting Luan's taste in April Fool's pranks, meaning that the family now has two pranksters now coming after them once every year.
  • Dung Fu: Lily uses a full diaper as a weapon against Lincoln, pelting him with it.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Lily was relatively calm in the first instances of the whole family getting pranked, including herself. It turns out that the Lily that was with the family was Charles in disguise.
    • Note how "Charles" slyly peeks down into the basement and seems like he's doing nothing about it when the family goes to confront Luan.
    • When the Louds are in Vanzilla, note that "Lily" does not show any signs of movement.
    • The tarp for the egg bathroom prank is actually Lily's blanket, a hint that she's the prankster.
    • When "Lily" first appears, she's back to wearing just her diaper from the first four seasons, despite beginning to wear toddler clothes as of "Schooled!".
  • Green Around the Gills: Rita and Lynn Sr. after the crazy ride in Vanzilla (courtesey of Lily)
  • Grounded Forever: Rita tells Lily she's grounded until she turns 16 for her pranks. She bumps it up to 21 after she and the others are subsequently splashed with onion water. It turns out that last one was Luan's.
  • Here We Go Again!: Luan is so impressed with Lily's pranks that she's come out of retirement and back to doing April Fool's pranks, which was Lily's plan all along. Lynn Sr. realizes in horror that this means that there are now two pranksters in the family to watch out for.
Lynn Sr.: Two of them... We somehow raised two of them... *quivers*
  • Kubrick Stare: Luan sports one on the title card.
  • Noodle Incident: Three of Luan's past pranks are discussed by Lincoln: the Great Mustarding from three years prior, the Mass Hairwaxing Disaster, and a time she floated the Loud House down the Kalamazoo River. He's so traumatized by the Mass Hairwaxing Disaster he can't even show a flashback of it and simply plays an audio clip of the event.
  • Not Me This Time: Despite Luan being locked up, the house ends up booby trapped regardless.
  • No Water Proofing In The Future: Luan shorts out Lily’s console with some juice.
  • Only One Finds It Fun: As it turns out, it was Lily who set up all the house pranks, and thus reignited Luan's April Fool's pranking, implying that she's the only member of the family who enjoys Luan's pranks.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title of this episode is a pun of the 1991 film, The Silence of the Lambs, and mirrors the plot for the film as well.
  • Running Gag: Luan speaking in a raspy Hannibal Lector voice and then stating it's because her throat is parched.
  • Smoke Out: Lily escapes from Luan's grasp by farting in this fashion.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Rita and Lynn Sr. barf after Lily's final prank.

"Undercover Mom"

Rita disguises herself as a high schooler to bond with her high school daughters.
  • Becoming the Mask: Rita embraces her teenage alter ego of Brita, going as far as to set up a social media presence and even get a phone exclusively for Brita.
  • Calling the Old Woman Out: Leni, Luna, and Luan do not take it well when they find out that Brita was their mother Rita this whole time, especially when they previously let her in on their personal secrets (such as an issue Luna wanted to fix with her girlfriend Sam, and Luan's secret school prank on Principal Rivers). She then later writes a report to make amends with them and explain why she did this.
  • Day in the Limelight: For Rita.
  • Food Fight: Instead of a Whoopee Cushion prank, per "Brita's" "suggestion", Luan instead triggers a food fight in the lunchroom as she teaches "Brita" about her school pranks.
  • Pet Positive Identification: Charles instantly recognizes the disguised Rita by sitting on her lap, and exposes her identity by snatching her wig.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a reference to Undercover Boss.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: Rita rhetorically asks, "What's another day?" when on the phone. However, Leni overhears and, being Leni, responds with "Wednesday."
  • Ship Sinking: Possibly. This episode reveals that Leni has a new crush, calling her and Chaz' relationship into question.
  • Spit Take: Rita when her daughters invite "Brita" to the Loud House.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Look at Calling the Old Woman Out.
  • Whoopee Cushion: Rita, hesitantly not trying to scold Luan in her "Brita" disguise, causally turns her away from pranking someone with one of these. Luan then causes a Food Fight in the lunchroom, instead.
  • You Say Tomato: The parents on the pronunciation of Rita's teen alter-ego, Brita:
Lynn Sr.: "Well, BREE-tah, have a nice day."
    Rita: "It's BRIH-tah."
    • And for the record, she sticks with "BRIH-tah" throughout the episode, and Lynn Sr. does acquiesce to "BRIH-tah", as shown in a later scene.
