Snow Way Out: Lana convinces her siblings to go to the Burpin' Burger to meet her racecar driving hero, despite the heavy snowfall.

"Snow Way Down"

  • Bait-and-Switch: When Lincoln and Clyde are sledding down a hill, Harold activates a build-in grappling hook to bring the sled to a stop. He immediately apologizes to Clyde that this wasn’t supposed to happen; it should have been a parachute instead.
  • Brick Joke: When they arrive at the lodge, Howard and Harold polish the floor to get rid of any splinters. This, however, makes the floor so smooth that Lincoln, who's wearing socks, slips on it later.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Encouraged by Lincoln, Clyde finally calls out his dads for being too overprotective.
  • Continuity Nod: Lincoln mentions Clyde's fear of heights.
  • Faint in Shock: Howard faints multiple times in this episode, first when Lincoln casually asks if they can go on the Ramp of Insanity. Harold remarks that this is why he is doing the driving. He does it again when he finds the note where Clyde says he is going to sled off the Ramp of Insanity, and again at the end when he sees Clyde and Lincoln sledding off of a tall hill.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • At the start of the episode, the McBrides and Lincoln see a giant, wooden ski ramp called the Ramp of Insanity. They all end up on it in the episode’s climax.
    • Howard mentions he installed a parachute in Clyde’s sled. It ends up saving their lives in the climax.
  • For Inconvenience, Press "1": Clyde tried to call the ranger to get his dads and Lincoln off the Ramp of Insanity, but he could only reach the ranger's voicemail. Harold declares that they're going to Chicago for their next vacation because of this.
  • "I Can't Look!" Gesture: Howard, Harold, and even Lincoln do this when Clyde is trying to rescue them from the Ramp of Insanity.
  • Irony: Howard, Harold and Lincoln get trapped on top of the Ramp of Insanity because they thought Clyde went there. While Clyde did go to the ramp, he decided against it when he realized it really was too dangerous. It gets even more ironic because their actions force Clyde to go onto the ramp as well to rescue them.
  • Letting the Air out of the Band: Happens to the background music when Lincoln and Clyde are about to go sledding, only to realize nothing happens because the sled isn’t on a hill anymore.
  • Minimalist Cast: The only characters in the episode are Lincoln, Clyde and Clyde's parents.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Said almost word for word by Lincoln when he realizes that, by encouraging Clyde to stand up for himself, he has inspired him to sled off the Ramp of Insanity.
  • Not-So-Final Confession: While flying through the air after sledding off the Ramp of Insanity, and convinced they won’t survive the landing, Harold confesses to Howard he doesn’t really like his beef bourguignon, while Howard confesses he secretly goes to the donut shop when he’s supposed to go to the gym. After they land safely, they jokingly call each other out about their confessions.
  • Safety Worst: Howard and Harold take such extreme measures to keep Clyde safe that he and Lincoln can't have any fun at all.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Downplayed. Even while overprotective, Harold is at least able to do so without fainting.
  • Series Continuity Error: Lincoln mentions this is his first vacation with Clyde and his dads, but he apperently forgets that Clyde’s dads already took the two of them on a camping trip once in the Season 1 episode "Roughin' It."
  • Sock Slide Rink: Lincoln ends up sliding into the living room of the cabin when he hears Clyde's fathers' exclamation since he rushed in while still being in his socks (Since it's a winter climate, they're all moving around in them when in the cabin) and couldn't brake due to the the cabin floor being too smooth.
  • Taking the Bullet: Parodied. Howard and Harold jump in front of the snowballs Clyde and Lincoln throw at each other, complete with dramatic Slow "NO!".
  • Tempting Fate: When Harold asks if the Ramp of Insanity is safe, Lincoln assures him that it is, or else there would be a warning sign. Cue some snow falling off the ramp, revealing three signs that says the ramp is condemned and thus off limits.

"Snow Way Out"

  • The Alleged Car: Vanzilla can’t start because the engine is frozen.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Lana.
  • Artistic License – Biology: Hops is just fine with only a scarf on when he's out in the snow. In reality, frogs are cold-blooded and can't survive below-freezing temperatures without hibernating.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Leni finds the winning wrapper, but Lana ultimately doesn't get to use it to win the contest and get a spot on Bobbie Fletcher's pit crew right away, since she chooses to give up the wrapper to Flip so Flip will take her siblings home. However, because Lana is able to fix Bobbie Fletcher's engine, this demonstrates to Bobbie Fletcher that Lana is an excellent mechanic, so Lana does get an offer to join the pit crew, it just has to wait until Lana turns 18.
  • Blatant Lies: Flip claims to be Bobbie Fletcher’s greatest fan, but he can’t even pronounce her name correctly.
  • Celebrity Endorsement: invoked Bobbie Fletcher promotes her sponsor Burpin’ Burger through a special contest.
  • Cell Phones Are Useless: Lori has no reception on her cellphone after the Louds are snowed in.
  • Gasshole: After three burgers, Lynn wants to go home so she can "let them rip in privacy". Lucy promptly asks Luna and Luan if she can bunk with them for the night.
  • Hostage for MacGuffin: When Flip comes back to the now snowed in Burpin’ Burger, only to learn that Lana already found the winning hamburger wrapper, he refuses to help the Louds out unless he gets it. Lana refuses, so Flip drops a fresh pile of snow in front of the door before leaving. After all her own plans to get her siblings out fail, Lana gives in to Flip’s demand.
  • Ignored Expert: Before they go to Burpin’ Burger, Lisa warns her siblings about the snow, but they ignore her, and she quickly joins them when she learns that the alternative is staying home and eating goulash. Once at Burpin' Burger, she again points out they should go home because of the snow (twice), but Lana convinces her siblings to stay for more burgers.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Bobbie Fletcher gives Flip a face full of snow after Lana fixes her car.
  • Multipurpose Tongue: Hops uses his tongue to snatch the free coupon Lana uses to get her and her siblings their first 11 burgers from the cash registers, so she can use it again.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Lana has this reaction when she sees how cold and miserable her siblings are while trapped in the Burpin’ Burger.
  • One-Steve Limit: Played with. Bobbie Fletcher is the second character named Bobbie/y in the series. Of course, the other Bobby is a boy whose name, though pronounced the same, is written slightly different.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • After two burgers, Luan is so full she says she can’t even tell a joke.
    • The Loud kids are full after only two burgers and can barely eat their third burgers.
  • Plot Coupon: Whoever finds the wrapper decorated with skidmarks gets to be on Bobbie Fletcher’s pit crew.
  • Snowed-In: The Loud kids, and the Burpin' Burger employee, get snowed in at Burpin’ Burger because they stayed too long trying to get the wrapper.
  • Sweet and Sour Grapes: The winning wrapper would allow Lana to instantly win a spot on Bobbie Fletcher's pit crew, but in the end, Lana has to give up her wrapper to Flip so Flip will take her siblings home. However, Lana manages to impress Bobbie Fletcher by fixing her car's engine (thus demonstrating mechanical expertise), so Lana ends up getting a legitimate professional offer to join the pit crew, it just has to wait until Lana turns 18.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Though Lana's forced to give up her wrapper to Flip so he can take her and her siblings home, she ultimately gets her wish to meet Bobbie Fletcher—the Louds run into her when her car is having engine trouble and Lana's able to fix her car right up even faster than Bobbie's professional pit crew. Bobbie's impressed enough by this to let Lana join her pit crew (once she turns 18).
  • Title Drop: Luan uses the title of the episode as a pun about their situation.
  • Would Rather Suffer: Lola would rather freeze to death than warm herself up with napkins.
