This episode includes examples of:

  • Antagonist Title: The episode's title comes from the name that the red pandas give to Chuluun.
  • Bait-and-Switch: After Bunga hears he needs to fight a ghost, his reaction starts off making it seem like he's panicking, only to reveal he's excited about fighting a ghost.
  • Cats Are Mean: Chuluun, a snow leopard, has been terrorising the red pandas, and making them believe she's a ghost.
  • The Chosen One: The red pandas believe Bunga is the one who, according to the prophercy, will take down the "Ghost of the Mountain".
  • Crowd Song: Most of "Ghost of the Mountain" is sung in unison by the entire pack of red pandas.
  • The Dreaded: The red pandas are scared of Chuluun (and not without reason).
  • For the Evulz: Chuluun is revealed to be terrorising the red pandas just for the fun of it.
  • Irony: The Lion Guard (besides Bunga) are all adamant that there's no such thing as a ghost, despite the fact they helped defeat the ghost of Scar throughout Season 2 (and the very start of season 3).
  • Not in Kansas Anymore: Fuli's reaction when the Lion Guard arrive at the Bamboo Forest
We're not in the Pridelands anymore.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: As Ono points out, red pandas are solitary animals, so it is rather unusual to see them together in a group. This quickly clues the Lion Guard into figuring something is wrong.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: The red panda pack the Lion Guard meet are absolutely adorable. Lampshaded by Beshte.
  • "The Villain Sucks" Song: The song "Ghost of the Mountain", sung by the red pandas, is primarilly about how the "ghost" (AKA Chuluun) has been terrorising them.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!:
    • Fuli's response to learning she and the rest of the guard are helping to red pandas is her signature "seriously?"
    • While she doesn't say her signature catchphrase, Fuli's reaction to being called one of Bunga's followers has this tone to it.
  • You Wouldn't Believe Me If I Told You: Anga says this to Ono when the latter asks why Bunga is "pretty".
