Following on the heels of the previous episode, the Guardian Baird, the Librarian, and the erstwhile library-candidates hunt down the missing artifacts and try to stop (yet another) apocalypse. Unfortunately, the Librarian is dying and the Library is lost.
The Librarians and the Demonstrated Tropes:
- Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Subverted initially, as Dulaque waves Lamia off from backstabbing Cassandra (so as to not get blood on his new rug), but ultimately played straight when Lamia has Cassandra thrown in a dungeon cell.
- Shout-Out: At the end of the episode, Jenkins refers to Jake as a "silly mid-western person". In Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the French Taunter refers to King Arthur as a "silly English person". Since the artifact of magic in this episode is King Arthur's sword Excalibur, this is likely to be a deliberate reference.
