Fight the Ship is the second episode of The Last Ship's second season.
Nathan James' crew is now actively trying to take back their ship with Slattery doing what he can to oversee everything from the comms room.
Chandler, now allied with Thorwald, launches an assault on the Avocet complex to try and take down Mrs. Granderson once and for all.
This episode provides examples of:
- Big Damn Heroes: Cruz, Miller, and O'Connor storm the mess deck to rescue the bulk of their crew.
- Tex bursts into the lab to take down the armed guard watching over Kara. It should be noted, however, that she'd already taken down the immediate threat to her and her baby on her own.
- Bottomless Magazines: Averted. Danny can only provide a distraction at the power plant for a short time because he quickly runs out of spare mags. He's not wearing his vest, with its mag pouches, at the time.
- Shot to the Heart: Not that anything's actually injected, but Kara kills Hamada by plunging a large-bore hypodermic needle into his heart.
- That's an Order!: Yelled word-for-word, more or less, by Chandler to Danny, telling the junior officer to pull out of the power plant, although Danny was already doing so at the time.
- Villainous Breakdown: Mrs. Granderson loses it when it becomes clear that opposition forces will definitely take over Avocet. She order that all civilians (including children) be forced to stay in the building and fight.
