Commander Fred Waterford takes Offred out on a night on the town to a "gentleman's club" attended by "Jezebels". Offred sees Moira and finds out that she's working there as a call girl to entertain the patrons. We also see flashbacks of Nick's life before he became a driver for the Waterfords.

- Sadistic Choice: Women deemed too unruly to serve as good Handmaidens are given the choice between becoming Jezebels or being sent to the colonies.
- Sex Slave: Jezebels are women forced into prostitution for the entertainment of Commanders and VIP guests of the Gilead regime.
- Pet the Dog: Serena gives Offred a music box as a gift, which she then places by the window to play.
