The one With The Celebrity Divorce
The Resistance renames itself The Bookclub. Marissa is given the job to follow Blum around and make sure he doesn't commit any shenanigans. A man who calls himself Wade V. and a woman named Zelda Raye want to hire Lucca to review a postnuptial agreement. At first they think it's Kim and Kanye, but it turns out to be Melania Trump – maybe.
Tropes
- Adam Westing: Vernon Jordan plays himself.
- Ambiguous Situation: Did the real Melania pay the retainer just to get her husband's golden shower tape, or was it an elaborate prank by Wade and Zelda using a Melania imitator? Or a combination?
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Marissa soliloquizes about Roland while looking directly at the camera.
- Mistaken Identity: Jay and the rest of the firm initially assume the divorce case is about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, before learning it's supposed to be about Melania Trump.
- Verbal Backspace: Adrian tells Blum he can't use their office spaces for his meetings, but backpedals when Roland says he was going to introduce him to Vernon Jordan.
- Womanchild: Zelda does not handle it very well when Lucca straight up asks her if the Melania who has been calling her is an impostor.
