Disaster?
Following what he believes was a disastrous first date with Carly, Shaun proposes a radical surgery to save a newlywed woman’s life. After the new chief of surgery, Lim, announces that the residents can lead surgeries, Morgan and Park compete for the chance to operate on an elderly patient who has been diagnosed with cancer.
- Anti-Climax: Shaun spends the entire episode telling the story of his disastrous romantic encounter with his fellow doctors. At the end of the episode, he finishes the story... and nothing particularly disastrous happened, with Shaun having just been desperate for all the emotional distress he felt from the experience. Morgan even points this out.
- Lampshade Hanging: Morgan and the other doctors point out that Shaun's story about the disastrous romantic encounter with Carly was not at all disastrous.
- No Social Skills: As he's getting dressed to go out on his date with Carly, Shaun asks Lea if she minds if he changes his pants in front of her. Lea obviously replies that she cares. A few minutes later, during the conversation, Shaun gets distracted and starts taking off his pants in front of Lea, who says "I said no".
- Promoted to Opening Credits: Jasika Nicole (Dr. Carly Lever).
- Put on a Bus: This is the last appearance of Allegra Aoki in the series, and there is no explanation for her absence.
