"Bedtime Story" is an episode in the second season of The Golden Girls.
As the girls figure out how they plan to accommodate some upcoming guests, they recall other unusual sleeping arrangements they've had to endure in the past.
Tropes:
- A Rare Sentence: This happened after Rose told the other girls that she fixed the air conditioner (right before she mentioned that the air conditioner, unfortunately for them, wouldn't turn off).Dorothy: Rose, you're a genius.

- Exact Words: While the girls (sans Sophia) were preparing to sleep inside a train station due to the clerk informing them that the last passenger train to Miami for the day had already left, a train approached the station in question. Blanche scrutinized the clerk about his claim, only for the clerk to respond that the train stopping at the station was en route to Sarasota but not to Miami, much to Blanche's disappointment.
- God Guise: Dorothy uses her deep voice to make Rose believe that she is hearing the voice of God, who is telling her to stop with the bedtime prayer and go to bed (with her then convincing Blanche that it wasn't her).
- Gone Horribly Right: Rose approached Sophia's bed (where Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia were already sleeping in) and informed the other three that she managed to fix the air conditioner... but it wouldn't turn off, resulting in it continually running and causing the room temperature to decline further, and so she joined the other three in Sophia's bed to keep warm.
- Tempting Fate: Once the passengers boarding the train to Sarasota were revealed to be clowns, Rose perked up at the thought of having them entertain the girls to brighten up the mood and went to one such passenger for her request. Unfortunately for her, the passenger clown in question was not in the mood for it and responded in a grumpy tone to Rose (with his cigarette smoke making her cough a bit for good measure), and so Rose withdrew and went back to Blanche and Dorothy, her hope for a better mood from this incident dashed.
