A Plot: When Lainey gets accepted to a school that doesn't teach medicine, Barry attempts to reinvent himself as a French fashion designer instead of following his dream to be a doctor.
B Plot: Murray becomes overly attached to the family dog, Lucky.
- Gratuitous French: When Barry tries to become a fashion designer, he renames himself "Baré" because all of the most famous designers are French.
- Hourglass Plot: In order to convince Barry not to completely change himself to keep their relationship going, Lainey ends up wearing a sports jersey and acting just like the original Barry.
- Rummage Sale Reject: Barry's idea of innovative fashion is combining fancy suits with some Philadelphia Flyers shorts and jerseys.
