Original air date: 3/12/2022

Production code: 115b

Molly and Scratch try to reunite Patty with her long-lost flame, Bobby Daniels, and discover the key reason behind why he supposedly left her behind on his trip around the world.

Tropes:

  • Actually, I Am Him: Molly asks the librarian at the Mewline library if he knows where Bobby Daniels is. Turns out the librarian is Bobby.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Molly warns Scratch not to meddle in any future relationships of hers, or he'll end up in "The After Afterlife". She says this in a cheerful voice with a big smile on her face. Scratch is more than a little nervous.
  • Distressed Dude: A mysterious figure in a face-concealing helmet kidnaps Bobby and runs off with him, forcing Patty to rescue him.
  • Easily Forgiven: Subverted. While Patty stops Linda from leaving town, saying that she isn’t going to throw away seventy years of friendship, she also makes it clear that she’s extremely pissed off that her best friend sabotaged her romantic love life and then lied about it for all that time, telling her that they will have words about it at the home later.
  • Foreshadowing: During "The Bad Boy of Brighton", Linda is scowling at Patty and Bobby. Bobby is also seen reading a letter before leaving.
  • Forged Message: Bobby left Brighton because he got a message from Patty telling him that she doesn't want to go with him anymore. Turns out the letter was written by her best friend Linda, who didn't want her to leave.
  • Former Teen Rebel: Scratch is downright disappointed to find that "the Bad Boy of Brighton" is now a mild-mannered old man who works in a library.
Scratch: This guy can't be him, he's made of cardigan! He's wearing boat shoes! Where's the leather jacket, the cool hog, the flagrant disregard for authority? (gasp) He is authority!
  • Haunted Technology: When Patty's scooter runs out of power, Scratch helps her out by possessing it, giving it enough speed to leave blue flaming tracks.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Pete is looking forward to checking out the "zoning regulation section" at the Mewline Library.
  • Low-Speed Chase: The chase scene between Patty and Linda on scooters at first looks very exciting and high-speed. Then we see that the scooters are barely breaking two miles an hour.
  • Relationship Sabotage: It turns out that the reason Patty and Bobby broke up was due to Linda sabotaging their romance to prevent Patty from going around the world with him.
  • Running Gag: After Patty reveals her needlepoint that says "No Regerts", characters keep pronouncing "regrets" as "regerts". It eventually becomes a plot point when Patty points out the letter supposedly from her says "regrets" instead of "regerts".
  • Sand In My Eyes: After Patty and Bobby ride into the sunset together, Scratch blames his tears on the ragweed season.
  • Shout-Out: With Scratch's help, Patty does the famous sliding bike stop from AKIRA on her scooter.
