Recap / The Fairly Odd Parents S 6 E 19 Chindred Spirits

Go To

After being disappointed with the latest issues of the Crimson Chin and seeing that the hero is depressed because he has no love in his life, Timmy wishes up for a female superhero to meet the Chin's needs, called Golden Locks. However, the comics get too focused on romance and Timmy wishes to break the new superhero couple apart by turning Golden Locks into an evil supervillainess, Hair Razor.

Tropes:

  • Badass Decay: In-Universe, Timmy is disappointed with the Crimson Chin comics due to him being sad throughout the latest issues and not doing any actual fighting.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Timmy dislikes the new Crimson Chin comics because they're too depressing and lack action, and wishes up Golden Locks as the Chin's love interest. Then the comics become too focused on romance and still lack action.
  • Dating Service Disaster: The Crimson Chin tried this out and he ended up nearly going on a date twice with two of his archenemies.
  • Dirty Coward: Once he realizes that he went a blind date with one of his enemies, the Chin bails on Cleft and gives his sidekick the hat and rose to take his place.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: It is implied that H2Olga draws the line at pedophilia. When she turns out to be the Crimson Chin's blind date, the Chin books it and makes Timmy take his place while wearing his fedora and holding his rose. When H2Olga sees a 10-year-old boy waiting for her, she gently tells him that he's too young for her.
  • Heartbreak and Ice Cream: Much like in "Chin Up!", the Crimson Chin is seen eating bowls of ice cream to deal with sadness.
  • Here We Go Again!: At the end of the episode, Golden Locks breaks up with the Crimson Chin and he becomes sad again, resorting to blind dating once more.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Golden Locks/Hair Razor is very attractive, both as a hero and as a villain.
  • Romantic Plot Tumor: An In-Universe example. Fearing that the Crimson Chin comics would turn into this after seeing the comic with the Crimson Chin and Golden Locks on a romantic getaway, Timmy wishes for Golden Locks to not be in the comic anymore. When that doesn't work, he wishes to turn Golden Locks evil.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Golden Locks has one in the form of Hair Razor.
  • Victory Is Boring: Ever since the Crimson Chin stopped fighting villains, the Bronze Kneecap admits that he's bored with his crimes and practically begs to be defied until Golden Locks shows up.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Crimson Chin's other love interest, Beverly Boulevard from "Crime Wave", is not mentioned nor seen.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Invoked by Timmy, who gets the heartbroken Crimson Chin to throw him off a tall building when he couldn't wish for Hair Razor to turn back into Golden Locks due to her being in love with her villainous side. This turns out to be a necessary evil, as it turns Hair Razor back into Golden Locks. When the Crimson Chin proposes to her with an engagement ring afterwards, she breaks up with him.
Golden Locks: Are you nuts? I could never marry a guy who throws kids off buildings.
