Go To

Original air date: 5/9/2005 (produced in 2003)

Episode number: 62b

Tootie is having a miserable birthday thanks to Vicky, so Timmy lends Cosmo and Wanda to her for the day. However, it may be hard for her to keep quiet about her new (temporary) godparents, risking Timmy losing his godparents forever.

Tropes:

  • Big Bad Ensemble: One of the few episodes where both Vicky and Mr. Crocker serve as the main antagonists. They don't form a Big Bad Duumvirate, however (since they appear in two separate halves of the episode), and their screen time is very minimal.
  • Big Sister Bully: Vicky to Tootie. The reason why everybody other than Timmy, who outright ignored her invitations didn't come to Tootie's birthday party was because they were too afraid of Vicky to attend. Then, when they return home, Vicky gives Tootie a swirlie as a birthday gift.
  • Birthday Episode: For Tootie.
  • Birthday Party Goes Wrong: Tootie's birthday always falls apart every year thanks to Vicky.
  • Book Ends: The episode begins with Vicky ruining Tootie's birthday and ends with Crocker (indirectly) doing the same. They both also manage to get off scot-free with upsetting Tootie as well.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Cosmo and Wanda forgot to tell Tootie she cannot tell anyone of their appearance; and for Tootie, she can't keep any secrets.
  • Crying at Your Birthday Party: The first time Tootie is shown, she is bursting into nonstop Tears of Remorse due to no one but Vicky showing up for her birthday party. She is still bawling later when Vicky gives her swirlies.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: This bit of dialogue in the third part to the three-part flashback of Timmy ignoring Tootie's invitations to her birthday party in favor of the Mike E. Mozzarella's free pass that came with each...
    Timmy: Triple sweet!
    Mailman: AAAAH! MY SWEET MEATS!
  • Downer Ending: Their schtick with Crocker towards the end of the episode causes Timmy to yell at Tootie after her fairly loan is up, hurting her feelings once more.
  • From Bad to Worse: As if Tootie being unaware she can't tell anyone about Cosmo and Wanda wasn't enough, Mr. Crocker, who is conveniently attending Tootie's big birthday celebration, figures out what is going on and tries to get Tootie to confess to the world.
  • Gasshole: Mr. Crocker's gift to Tootie is a gag detention ticket which farts when squeezed.
  • Heroic BSoD: Tootie when she gets one too many horrible birthdays from Vicky. This becomes important as according to Da Rules, godchildren can only loan out their fairies to someone as twice as miserable as them.
  • Happy Birthday to You!: Sung maliciously by Vicky to Tootie as she gives her a swirlie, dunking her head in the toilet on each mention of "you".
  • Ironic Echo Cut:
Timmy, Chester and AJ: THIS IS THE GREATEST PLACE EVER!
Tootie: THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER!
  • Karma Houdini: In contrast to Mr. Crocker, who ends the episode dragged away by a helicopter to parts unknown (though he still gets Tootie in trouble with Timmy), Vicky doesn't receive any form of real comeuppance for bullying Tootie during her birthday.
  • Kick the Dog:
    • As they leave to go to the arcade, Chester mocks Tootie by jokingly telling AJ not to slip on her tears.
    • Vicky gives an already miserable Tootie a swirlie during her birthday.
  • Magic A Is Magic A: Yet another guideline from Da Rules: Godchildren can temporarily loan out their fairy godparents to someone else, but the person they're loaning the fairies to has to be twice as miserable as them.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Crocker nearly succeeds in getting Tootie to reveal Cosmo and Wanda's existence, at least until Timmy kisses her right before she can do so.
  • Noodle Incident: Cosmo mentions he faked having a coma to avoid an anniversary party with Wanda.
  • Ow, My Body Part!: Happens to the mailman in the three-part flashback of Timmy ignoring the invitations to Tootie's birthday party and instead focusing on the included free pass to Mike E. Mozzarella's Pizza Fun House, and the mailman keeps saying something like this each time he's hurt. The first time, the mailman gets the invitation thrown in his eye and he screams "AAAAH! MY EYE!!!" The second, Timmy sends him and his giant novelty invitation flying off a coil-spring floor tile and he yells "AAAAH! MY SPINE!!!" The third, Timmy sics Cosmo as a tiger on the delivery man dressed in a Mike E. Mozzarella rat costume and he cries out "AAAAH! My SWEET MEATS!!!"
  • Perp Sweating: Wanda uses this when demonstrating guilt to Timmy Turner, making Cosmo confess that he really did forget their 793rd anniversary and pretended to be in a coma to cover it up.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Timmy fairy-loaning Tootie Cosmo and Wanda at the start of the episode standout as one of his most selfless acts. No compensation or thought of reward — he completely willingly loaned out his fairy godparents so Tootie could have a great birthday for once.
    • Crocker, of all people, considers himself giving a present to a child to be completely in-character for him (it's the buttercream icing on the giant birthday cake that tips him off that fairy magic is involved). In his defense though, he did at least try to be nice to Tootie on her birthday, unlike Vicky.
  • Punctuated Pounding: When Vicky is giving Tootie a swirlie.
Vicky: Happy birthday to YOU! Happy birthday to YOU!
  • Pushover Parents: Vicky's parents do not punish her for bullying Tootie, and like everyone other than Timmy, Chester, and AJ, they were too afraid of Vicky to come to Tootie's birthday party.
  • Rule of Three: Tootie invites Timmy to her birthday party three times, only for Timmy to ignore her invitations in favor of the free passes and attack the mailman. The first time, Timmy tosses the written invitation aside and it lands in the mailmain's eye. The second time, the mailman gives Timmy an oversized novelty invitation and Timmy ejects him from his yard. The third time, the mailman shows up in a Mike E. costume and Timmy sics Cosmo as a tiger on him.
  • Running Gag: Cosmo mentioning faking a coma in order to cover up forget his and Wanda's 793rd anniversary when Wanda shines a flashlight at him.
  • Suck E. Cheese's: Mike E. Mozzarella's Pizza Funhouse. Somewhat subverted in that Timmy, Chester and AJ really enjoy the place. But of course, Tootie doesn't, because everyone is too scared of Vicky to attend Tootie's birthday party.
  • Swirlie: Timmy spies on Vicky giving one to Tootie through Cosmo's wand.
  • When the Clock Strikes Twelve: A variant; Timmy has the time period where Cosmo and Wanda are Tootie's temporary godparents end at 9:00 PM, since he figures that's when her bedtime is. Then near the end of the time period, Timmy must prevent Tootie from revealing the existence of Cosmo and Wanda to everyone.
  • Worthy Opponent: Tootie refused to do anything Crocker says until after she gets his present.
Mr. Crocker: You're nobody's fool, Tootie. I respect that.
