Original air date: 3/1/2002 (produced in 2001)

Episode number: 8a

When Timmy thinks his parents forgot his birthday on account of attending a Chip Skylark concert, he gets jealous and wishes that the worst possible non-lethal thing could happen to him—this leads to Chip Skylark showing up at the Turner residence and a lovestruck Vicky is determined to marry him. But it turns out Chip isn't bad after all, and it's up to Timmy to stop the wedding.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Timmy's mom accidentally calls him "Tommy".
  • Actor Allusion: Chip mentions "The album comes out July 24th." *NSYNC actually had an album come out July 24th, 2001.
  • Ageless Birthday Episode: Timmy gets his first of three while still staying ten years old.
  • All There in the Manual: According to 77 Secrets of the Fairly OddParents Revealed, Timmy does share a birthday with Chip Skylark, meaning he was right all along.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: Vicky tried to do this to Chip.
  • Big "NO!": By Vicky when she learns Chip is not rich.
  • Birthday Buddies: Timmy is having a miserable Forgotten Birthday alone at home with Vicky while his parents are going to the Chip Skylark concert. Chip Skylark then winds up at Timmy's house, held hostage by Vicky, and it turns out to be his birthday, too. Timmy, having initially blamed Chip for ruining his birthday, starts to bond with him over the fact that they're both having a miserable birthday...except that Timmy's birthday was actually the day after, and it was he who forgot.
  • Birthday Episode: For Timmy and to a lesser extent, Chip. Subverted for the former however, as it was revealed his birthday wasn't until next day.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Timmy assumed Chip was this at first.
  • Blatant Lies: "What? Dude, how'd we get here so fast?" "Um... the power of music?" "Rock on!"
  • Break the Haughty: The instant Chip apologizes to Timmy for everyone forgetting his birthday because of his concert and even gives him a Crash Nebula action figure as a gift, Timmy immediately drops all traces of anger and realizes Chip is not jerky at all, and it was he himself who had been a total jerk.
  • Broken Pedestal: Whoever finds out Chip isn't rich won't love him anymore; Timmy uses this technique to get Vicky to cancel the wedding.
  • Captive Date: Vicky kidnaps Chip for one, almost resulting in a marriage.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: The entire time Chip is being held hostage, he casually converses with Timmy, even noting he's only here until "she snaps or the SWAT team arrives". He's far more concerned over the fact that he's going to miss the concert and disappoint the fans.
  • Dance Party Ending: The episode ends as Chip, Timmy and the gang sing and dance at the concert to his song, "Icky Vicky".
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Mr. Turner, toward Chip. Unsurprisingly, all the guests at the concert are female, except for Mr. Turner, which is brought up sometimes.
  • Forgotten Birthday: Timmy's conflict that kickstarts the plot. Subverted in the fact his birthday wasn't until next day, and he was the one who forgot.
  • Forgot Their Own Birthday: Turns out Mom and Dad never forgot Timmy's birthday; it's Timmy himself who forgot it, as it wasn't until the next day.
  • Good All Along: What Chip turned out to be.
  • Hidden Depths: Cosmo used to have his own band.
  • Irony: Timmy thought his parents forgot his birthday; turns out it wasn't until tomorrow, and Timmy himself forgot.
  • Knockout Gas: Chip gets hit by it twice, first by Vicky to kidnap me, and later by Timmy so he can get him to the concert without revealing his secret.
  • Ladies and Germs: "Ladies...and...Timmy Turner's dad!" Fittingly, as Mr. Turner was the only male at the concert.
  • Loony Fan: Vicky.
  • Meaningful Name: Lampshaded when Timmy says Vicky's name comes from the fact it's "icky with a V". This inspires Chip to write the song "Icky Vicky".
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: The above-mentioned Ladies and Germs.
  • Non Sequitur, *Thud*: Chip Skylark gets sprayed with Knockout Gas and mumbles, "Tuesday is... applesauce day." Later, the same gas gets sprayed and he mutters, "The album... comes out... July 24th."note
  • Not-So-Forgotten Birthday: It turns out Mom and Dad didn't forget Timmy's birthday after all; his birthday wasn't until the day after.
  • Oblivious Guilt Slinging: After Timmy starts to feel bad about his wish.
Timmy: I'm really sorry about all this, Chip.
Chip: Oh, that's all right, little pal. It's not like you wished for this to happen.
  • The One Guy: Mr. Turner was the only male attendee at the Chip Skylark concert. This was lampshaded a couple times.
  • Produce Pelting: To stall for time while Timmy and Wanda free Chip Skylark from Vicky's clutches, Cosmo gets his old band, "The Fairies" back together. However, without them even playing, the audience throws tons of tomatoes at them.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Timmy gives this to Chip once he's tied up, chewing him out for throwing his concert which led to everyone forgetting his birthday. Chip's response is to apologize sincerely and give him a Crash Nebula action figure while asking nothing in return.
  • Santa Claus: Shows up as part of Cosmo's band.
(After getting hit with a tomato) You better watch out.
  • Significant Birth Date: Chip Skylark's birthday happens to be the day before Timmy's.
  • Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace: While the nerd serving as the justice of the peace is officiating the marriage, he asks if anyone besides the groom objects to it. Cue Wanda coming in with the record company executive.
  • Unexpected Kindness: While Chip is tied up, Timmy is surprised when Chip genuinely apologizes to him for forgetting his birthday and presents him a Crash Nebula action figure as his present, causing him to realize Chip is friendly and nothing like he described.
  • "The Villain Sucks" Song: "Icky Vicky"
  • Vocal Dissonance: The normally squeaky moron voiced Cosmo adapts a soothing, deep baritone voice when announcing to the crowd.
  • We Need a Distraction: To distract the crowd so Timmy has more time to rescue Chip, Cosmo reunites his old band "The Fairies" as an opening act. It does not go well.
  • Wham Line: Chip reveals a secret about his life.
Chip: Actually, I'm not all that rich. The record company pays for everything, I'm broke! But if the fans knew that, they might not love me anymore.
  • You Are Grounded!: Mrs. Turner warns if Chip doesn't show up, she will punish Timmy for no reason.
Mr. Turner: (Nervously) Timmy, if you're watching this, RUN!
