To raise money for tickets to Crash Nebula On Ice, Timmy starts a lemonade stand. At first, his lemonade is horrible, but after dunking Cosmo's sweaty socks in it, not only does the lemonade taste better, but it grants wishes, too.

"Nectar of the Odds" contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: Money does not come easy, and you have to work to get it.
  • Artistic License – Economics: An aversion. Timmy can't wish for money because it's counterfeiting.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Timmy's attempts to find a secret ingredient has him trying cheese, taco sauce, peas, and chocolate laxatives.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Timmy, Chester, and AJ manage to get into the show after all when Doug has them sell lemonade for the visitors, all without any tickets.
  • Fan Disservice: The blonde in the swimsuit shown ends up being an unattractive guy all along.
  • Forgotten Phlebotinum: You'd think after Cosmo had a chance to rest (he was run dry at the end) Timmy would make more lemonade to get rule free wishes (Timmy was about to use it to wish for the tickets he couldn't before), but it never comes up.
  • Gender Bender: One of the people who drank Timmy's lemonade is an ugly fat old man who wished himself to be gorgeous blonde lady. This is reversed in the end.
  • Gilligan Cut:
    • A scene when Timmy wants to raise money to buy some shockingly expensive tickets from Francis to see Crash Nebula on ice:
Wanda: How do most ten-year-olds make money?
Timmy: A lemonade stand... oh no, there's no way, no way I'm selling...
(cut to Timmy at the lemonade stand)
      Timmy: ...lemonade, twenty-five cents.
    • Also, earlier it inverts this:
A.J.: What are you gonna do? Make three tickets appear like magic?
(Timmy grins; cut to his home)
Timmy: What do you mean I can't make three tickets appear like magic?!
  • Honking Arriving Car: As Doug Dimmadome, the owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmmadome, arrives so he can pick up his long lost son, Dale Dimmadome, his limo honks the opening notes of "La Cucaracha."
  • Human Resources: Timmy starts a lemonade stand so that he can get enough money to buy tickets for Crash Nebula on Ice from Francis. When his lemonade tastes awful, he tries to find a secret ingredient, only to find that Cosmo's sweat sweetens it. As it turns out, it also grants wishes, so Timmy has Cosmo exercise a lot so that he can gain plenty of bucks. Unfortunately, all those wishes leads to lots of chaos.
  • Karmic Jackpot: Timmy gives up the last bit of lemonade to a young boy who turns out to be Doug Dimmadome's son. It's subverted a bit in that he still can't give them tickets, but puts them to work selling drinks at the show.
  • Lemonade Stand Plot: In this episode, Timmy starts his own lemonade stand to buy scalped tickets to see Crash Nebula on Ice. His stand is a bust at first, especially when compared to Vicky's professional-looking one, but soon becomes successful when Cosmo dunks his sweaty socks in the lemonade, which not only makes it taste better, but grants wishes as well.
  • Magical Counterfeiting: Wishing for money is against the rules as it's counterfeiting, and that's wrong.
  • Magic Potion: Timmy opens up a lemonade stand to raise money to buy scalped tickets to see Crash Nebula on Ice. However, as his lemonade tastes terrible, he looks for a secret ingredient that will make it taste better. Cosmo tries to help by dunking his sweaty socks in Timmy's lemonade. The magic from his socks not only makes the lemonade taste better, but when people drink it, it grants their wishes. Thanks to this, Timmy's lemonade stand becomes a massive success, but when people start wishing for dangerous things, Timmy is forced to use the lemonade to undo the wishes.
  • Rent-a-Zilla: Timmy's dad drinks the lemonade and wishes he didn't have to go to work. Immediately a monster appears and eats his office. Timmy later defeats it by drinking some more lemonade and turning it into a tiny lizard.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Averted, Doug Dimmadome is grateful for Timmy reuniting him with his son, but the fact of the matter is that all of the tickets to Crash Nebula on Ice have been sold, so there are not seats for him to give to Timmy and his friends, even if Doug owns the stadium.
  • Secret Ingredient: Timmy opens a lemonade stand that gains great success because of the secret ingredient: Cosmo's sweaty socks. The problem starts because, it turns out, fairy sweat makes the lemonade grant people's wishes.
  • Selfless Wish: After using the last of the lemonade to undo everything, Timmy realizes there's still a small bit of it left. Rather than drink it himself and wish for tickets, he gives it to one of the kids who made the lemonade. He wishes his father is here, and he turns out to be Doug Dimmadome, who recognizes him as his son Dale, and helps Timmy get into the show.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: Francis's Crash Nebula on Ice tickets cost $1500 each.
  • Simple Solution Won't Work: As Timmy is quick to find out, he can't wish for tickets since, according to Wanda, the fact that all the tickets were sold out means that they'd have to take the tickets from someone else, and stealing is against Da Rules. So is Magical Counterfeiting, so wishing for the money to buy Francis' scalped tickets is also out.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: As Timmy tries the Cordon Bleugh Chef routine to find tasty lemonade, Wanda wonders why he doesn't just wish for better lemonade.
  • Toilet Humour: Francis's Toilet of Tickets.

3 Tickets Appear Like Magic

Inverted when Timmy wants to raise money to buy some shockingly expensive tickets from Francis to see Crash Nebula on Ice by poofing it with magic. It cannot happen as if Cosmo and Wanda were to poof up 3 tickets at the current timing, it would mean taking tickets from other people, which is considered stealing.

How well does it match the trope?
