- Consummate Liar: Pippa is this, when she first appears, she pretends that she's Frannie Newcombe, who signed up for the Colunga-Eastland exchange program. She has everyone fooled except Jo until her father arrives and reveals the truth. When the girls tell her they know who she is, she tries to lie again and say that her father is sick, unaware that he's listening to every word.
- Foreign Exchange Student: Pippa is an exchange student from Eastland's sister school in Australia, Colunga Academy.
- Properly Paranoid: Jo is the most suspicious of the main cast about Frannie AKA Pippa. She even tries to quiz her about facts regarding Australia, after she passes that, Jo admits she's wrong, but then Pippa's father arrives at the house and proves her right about Pippa being a liar.
- Skipping School: Pippa convinces Andy to ditch school and hang out with her for a day. The others are worried sick when they find out he didn't go to school and is currently hanging out with someone who's already lied to them about who she really is.
