Easy Amnesia: Bo is involved in a minor accident, hits his head ... and volia – he's got instant amnesia.
Identity Amnesia: Boss is able to get alone with Bo and easily convince him he is his "long-lost son, Bo Hogg."
The Sheriff: Sheriff Edward "Big Ed" Little, a legitimately fearsome law enforcement officer who is the top law enforcement official in Chickasaw County. In this episode, Sheriff Little proves to be friendly to, or in the very least tolerant of, Boss, and respects him. In subsequent episodes, this changes, as Sheriff Little clearly thinks little of either Boss or Rosco, and thinks Rosco is nothing short of incompetent. Surprisingly, no episodes were ever centered around portraying him positively (such as legitimately facing a crisis wherein he is forced to rely upon the Dukes to help), nor were there any attempts to set up a Backdoor Pilot to a series with Little as the main character (where he would likely have been portrayed as a Jerk with a Heart of Gold).
Token Minority: Sheriff Little. His character proved to be so popular that he would become a recurring character.
